As I mentioned in my last post here, one of the things we did over the weekend was that we headed to Lexington to check out some bourbon distilleries on the Bourbon Trail. For one of those days, this is what I wore. I wanted to keep it cool and casual so I went with this cowl neck sweater. The weather was perfect this weekend (unlike the bitter coldness of this week, ugh) that a coat was not needed! However, due to the short sleeves of the sweater, I knew I would be chilly without a coat. But if I wore a coat, I would overheat. After my mini debate with myself, I realized I can layer (duh Rach, you love to layer!). The bulkiness and chunkiness of the sweater made it so easy to slip on a long sleeve. Problem solved, no coat needed :)

Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoy spending time with your family, friends, and loved ones!

Over the weekend, Tre and I went to Louisville/southern Indiana to visit our really good friends. We went wine tasting, visited a few bourbon distilleries on the Bourbon trail in Lexington, ate delicious meals at awesome restaurants, went shopping, and some more bourbon :) Overall, the weekend was perfect. Whenever we visit, we admire the atmosphere and scenery of downtown. Tre and I would wish we could bring our camera with us when we travel. That's when I came across the Siena bag. For the longest time, I was on a hunt for a camera bag. However, I did not want an average camera bag. I wanted a bag that exemplified my style. Basically I was looking for a cute bag that could go with my outfits and protects my camera at the same time. Well this Siena bag pretty much solved that! I actually couldn't believe such a camera bag existed! No joke, I would totally wear this bag even if it wasn't a camera bag. So now I can easily bring my camera with me whenever we travel without losing style :)

During this time of the year, not only do your friends & family have holiday parties going on, but I'm sure your work does too. I usually have two a year with my job: one is corporate wide with cocktail attire and the second is a little more casual for associates in the same department. No matter who is hosting, work or family & friends, I always want to dress for the occasion and look festive. I decided to put together an outfit that is work appropriate with a splash of glam. With the jacket on, it can easily be worn in the office with a sneak peek of the sequins. I usually wear this jacket as a layering piece due to the thin material. Right after work (usually during happy hour at a nice space), the jacket can be taken off to look more appropriate for the event. Such an easy transition, which I love! Less for me to carry to the office haha.

I've teamed up with 9 beautiful ladies to give away a $300 gift card to Kate Spade to one lucky winner! Each participant can enter by using the Rafflecopter widget below. This giveaway is for U.S. and Canadian residents only and you must be at least 18 years old. The giveaway will end on November 25 at 11:59 PM CST just in time for Black Friday shopping! Good Luck! :)

Dress: c/o Billie + Betty
Sweater: Dynamite (on sale now!!), also love this
Booties: Bucco (old), similar here
Bag: Angela Roi
Earrings: Loft (old), similar here
Bracelet: Dress and Dwell (old) - similar here, Lily & Laura

I had a completely different look in mind when I came across this dress from Billie + Betty. Originally, I was just going to wear the dress with cobalt blue d'orsay heels and a large red satchel like this one. I was going for the 'work chic' look. Keep in mind, this was when we had the best weather possible for Fall. Then this weekend completely 180-ed. It actually feels like winter! The temps were below freezing. I knew I would not survive the cold with my original outfit. Right before I headed out, I quickly improvised. I threw on a shaker stitch sweater and booties for some warmth. I actually was satisfied with my improvisation. It created a layered look that showcased the studded details of the collar.

Holiday Attire: Sticking to the Basics

Bracelet: Dress & Dwell, also LOVE this
Earrings: Kate Spade
Scarf: Dynamite (sold out), similar here

I always enjoy dressing up for the holidays. Something about getting together with your closest friends & family makes the cold, dreary weather so cheery and festive. When I'm in a cheery mood, I love to get dolled up! However, dressing for the holidays can be tricky. Why you ask? Well, first of all you have to consider the weather. For me, it's always unbearably cold (with a side of snow storm). Also, I tend to stay up a lot later during holiday gatherings than usual so not wanting/wishing I wore my pjs by the end of the night is a must. So I sometimes just put together an outfit from what's already in my closet. 9 out of 10 times I pick the most basic pieces to put together and accessorize. For this outfit, I decided to go with a solid knit, crew neck sweater and to dress it up I paired it with a faux leather skirt. Although plaid is trending right now, plaid is a classic print so obviously I HAD to accessorize with a plaid, blanket scarf. This one from Dynamite is my favorite. I love the double-sided print, and it is well-priced. However, I would totally pair this entire look with this Asos scarf as well.
