Ask me a few years ago on my thoughts on monochromatic looks, and I would shake my head with disgust. My mom always wore monochromatic outfits, and I would tell her to add some contrast. Now is a different story. In the past year-ish, I've been embracing monochromatic outfits (as you may have noticed in previous posts). The key to monochromatic is staying simple and sticking to the classics. Maybe play with different textures, but that's how far it goes. Otherwise, it just doesn't flow. One of my favorite monochromatic combos is white on white. Something about it feels & looks crisp & sophisticated. What is your favorite monochromatic combo?

There have been a lot of sales going on lately. This is seriously the best time of the year to stock up. It's either Winter fashion is going on sale (so perfect for next Winter, right?!) or Spring Trends are on sale to get you geared up for next season. My favorite sales this week are Piperlime and Kate Spade Saturday.

Piperlime has any sale item for extra 30% off and any final sale for extra 50% off. Just make sure to use the code 'SALEONSALE' at the checkout. So basically, you are getting markdowns on already marked down items. Amazing! I'm also thinking about getting some new pairs of jeans! I would have created a collage of my favorite sale jeans, but then it would have been all of them haha.

Kate Spade Saturday is having a storewide sale. Everything is extra 40% off with the code 'EXTRA40' at the checkout. I'm loving all of their sale stuff, but the 40% off makes their non-sale items affordable! I mean, I'm swooning over their bags. You can basically buy one for less than $100!

Did any of you watch the Oscars last night? I barely watched any movies in the past year so I was mostly paying attention to what everyone wore on the red carpet. I even created my own Oscar look here.  But seriously, how amazing was Lupita Nyong'o's dress! What girl doesn't love to be covered in pearls?!? Absolutely stunning!  Of course, Lady Gaga's voice was phenomenal. She did an impressive job during Julie Andrews' tribute. Then the elephant in the room... How awkward was Dakota Johnson & Melanie Griffith on the red carpet interview?! Can you say tension. I also had no idea that Melanie's daughter is Dakota haha.

Also, I apologize for my lack of posts. Late last week, I got my wisdom teeth pulled which caused me to be out of commission for a bit. My face is slightly swollen, but it is recovering way better than the last time (phew!). So unfortunately I could not take any outfit posts over the weekend. Crossing my fingers that my face will heal by this upcoming weekend! In case you're confused, I wore this Burgundy and Black outfit before my teeth were pulled (same goes for all upcoming posts). However, I've been enjoying my time away from work by munching on ice cream nonstop haha. Follow along on Instagram to find out what I've been up to during my recovery!

Aro & Company + Giveaway

Top: c/o Aro & Company
Pants: Forever 21
Shoes: c/o Piperlime (on sale now!)
Clutch: thrifted, similar here
Bracelet: Vintage Charm, also love this
Earrings: Bauble Bar
I would be lying to you if I told you I braved the cold last weekend and wore a cute pink & red dress for Valentine's Day. I mean that WAS the plan. Unfortunately, my body did not agree with that decision. I just knew I would be miserable wearing a dress in the cold.  So I decided to wear these pants. They're different than your usual denim. These pants feel like sweatpants. It was the comfort I needed (especially since we had a 4 course meal!). The tricky part was trying to maintain a very feminine look. That is when this Aro & Company blouse came into the play. The light and airy fabric creates a soft look, and the bow ties it all together and adds a feminine & classy touch to it. It was the perfect top to keep my outfit looking dressy without wearing a dress.

Love my top? Or do you have your eye on another items from Aro & Company? Well, you're in luck! Aro & Company would like to give one lucky winner a $25 gift card to their store. Woo! To enter, fill out the Rafflecopter widget below. This giveway will end on Tuesday, February 24 11:59 PM CST. You must be at least 18 years old and a U.S. Resident. Good luck!

Plaid Coat

Coat: c/o Choies (less than $30)
Shirt: Forever 21 (less than $11)
Jeans: c/o Joes via Piperlime
Boots: Hunter
Bag: c/o Jo Totes
Scarf: H&M (old), similar here (less than $20)

I have been on a hunt for a plaid coat for quite some time. I fell in love with the Zara coat but decided too late and they ended up selling out. Whenever I came across another one I liked, they were too expensive. I also wanted one that I can wear all year round. I love plaid, and I love coats. So the combination of both just swoon me over. Most of the plaid coats I came across are all wool coats and can be only appropriate to wear in the late Fall or Winter. Until I came across this plaid coat from Choies. I instantly fell in love with its lightweight fabric and the color combo of the plaid pattern. It's so light that I can comfortably wear it in the Spring or even in the summer if it is chilly in the office. Obviously, it is too light for the Winter, but it is the perfect layering piece under a puffy coat. Then I don't have to take it off at all. I can enjoy wearing the plaid coat all day or all night. My favorite part is that it is only $28.99. Yeah, I know I can't believe it either!

The Camden Watch Co.

Watch: c/o The Camden Watch Company

Shirt: Forever 21 (less than $11)
Jeans: Wit & Wisdom (old), similar here
Scarf: H&M (old), similar here
Shoes: c/o Vogue Footwear
Sunglasses: Madewell (old), similar here
Earrings: Loft Outlet, also love this

I'm sure you've heard me say this a bajillion times, but one of my goals this year is to purchase classic pieces. I realize that these items are versatile and will last for a while. Which will be good for my bank account and will reduce the clutter in my closet. Aside from articles of clothing, I'm also investing in classic accessories. When I came across The Camden Watch Company, I was immediately drawn. Their watches are timeless (pun intended, but so true!), classic, and versatile. I can pretty much wear them with anything and still look great! I love the leather straps that compliments the Victorian inspired pocket watch. Their watches are influenced by the town of Camden in London. Hence, they are crafted in Camden. Their watches are even named after Camden's bus routes. How awesome is that! I'm wearing the No. 24.  They strongly believe in well-made, quality watches. Even their packaging embodies that belief. You can check it out here. The best part is...wait for it... they are affordable! So rare to find something so well crafted to be well-priced.
