Searching for Affordable Area Rugs

Recently, I’ve been searching for affordable area rugs. Let me tell you, rugs are expensive. It’s one of those home decor pieces you don’t expect to be that expensive until you start looking for one. Soo annoying. But it is possible to find affordable area rugs!

My Most Asked About Rug

A couple years ago, I was really into Kilim Rugs. And I shared my favorite affordable Kilim Rugs. Still love all those options. Out of all of them I went with this one. You all love this rug so much! Every time any of you see it in my Instagram Stories or in my outfit selfies, I get asked about it. That rug is for sure a keeper. I have it in a 5′ x 8′ size. I saw someone used the same rug as an outdoor rug which I guess you can because that is what it says in the description. Personally, I don’t think it is made for outdoors. When it rains, it’ll get soaked. Which means eventually it will get smelly and gross.

We want to replace our living room rug. We need a rug with more structure because the one we currently have is so flimsy and we constantly have to adjust and fix it. After a while, it gets annoying. Plus, we want to switch up the style.

Size I’m Looking For

All 9 of these affordable area rugs are ideas for our living room. We want to get something around 5′ x 8’ish size. Which all of these options do come around that size. I say around that size because we don’t mind if it is a few inches smaller or a few inches larger. 5′ x 8′ is a guideline.

As you can tell, I’m really into the pink hues. Our sofa is dark grey (almost charcoal), and we need a rug that can pull together the dark colors and make it bright and cheerful. All these rugs are under $300. Most of them are under $200. I’m shocked that this one is only $100. What a steal!

    You had me at “affordable rugs”. I feel like so many rugs now are overpriced. I think I understand if they’re like restored vintage rugs or something special, but if they’re just a “generic” area rug, the price should not be totally outlandish. I love that these are such great prices AND they’re super cute. Rugs are the first thing I tend to purchase so as to dictate how my space turns out. You’re giving me inspiration to spice up other places in my home!

    I went on a rug shopping spree earlier this year when I was decorating the new house- and so many had pink hues! Great minds think alike. 🙂 I love your picks and agree- finding an affordable rug is so clutch becuase they can be crazy expensive!
