I love being outdoors during the Summer season. I love soaking up the sun rays and hanging out by the beach. However, being outside in the heat comes with risk. The skin exposure can lead to damaged skin and/or life threatening illness. Did you know that your every day clothing only has a SPF 5. That’s not a lot of protection against the sun.

Wearing anything with  UPF 50+ will block against 98% of UVA and UVB rays. Talk about safety! Unfortunately, it is rare to find clothing with that much protection and/or looks stylish. As someone who is currently a cancer fighter, I strongly believe in educating and preventing to minimize the risk of cancer.

Since I’m all about wearing dresses during the summer, I decided it would be appropriate to select a dress from their collection. I am wearing the Monte Carlo shift dress and I love it. Not only am I protecting myself from the sun, but the dress is so cute! I love the coral color & print. It the perfect dress to wear to the beach, pool, or just walking around. I know this dress will be in my suitcase when I visit my in laws in Sarasota. As a lover of stripes, I am eyeing this navy stripe dress. Tre says it is so me. Pair this Lava shirt dress with flatform espadrilles and it’s a perfect day date outfit.

    Ahhh I love that you shot these photos on the beach! It looks like you had so much fun on this shoot.

    That dress is so cute. I've never heard of Cabana Life before, but I'm all about enjoying the sun and being safe.

      It actually was fun to shoot because the weather was PERFECT! So rare! I haven't either until they reached out to me and I am really glad they did. I am now a fan!

    Rach, I love this post! That dress is so fun- colorful, vibrant, and super flattering! And I love that you wrote about keeping your skin safe in this post. My friend has melanoma and I always make sure to protect myself as much as possible. Thanks for raising awareness on this- I feel like people don't pay enough attention to skin cancer and don't consider how much they are at risk!
