So when I first saw this crochet lace midi dress on Chicwish, I loved it! But if I’m being honest here, I wasn’t too keen on it when it arrived. When I first tried on the dress, I wasn’t feeling it. It was slightly too big especially around the waist. If I had the time, I really would have gotten it altered to take in more at the waist. With that said, it made the dress feel heavy on me.
However, I still think it is a beautiful dress. I love the crochet and lace detail. Without a doubt it is gorgeous! I just prefer to cinch the waist a bit more. The good news is that the dress is breathable and it leaves more room to accessorize with it! If I thought about it a little bit more, I would have accessorized the waist with this venice belt or beaded belt or woven belt. Really, it just means I have an opportunity to create another outfit with this dress.
So I guess I wasn’t at a total loss with this dress. It just didn’t come as expected but I guess that’s life right? Not everything goes the way you expect it. But it doesn’t mean it is ruined, it is more about how you handle it. That’s how I handled my cancer diagnosis and in the end it was more of blessing (I can talk about that later when I’m ready – that would be a super long post haha!). So crochet lace midi dress even if you didn’t fit the way I expected I am now able to create a unique and new outfit. All I really had to do was accessorize 🙂
Didn’t realize I was getting philosophical but I like how I made a metaphor about life with this dress. Was there ever a situation you’ve been in that wasn’t as expected? How did you handle it?
