Embroidered Blouse

Apparently I am in the mood of talking about Spring trends on the blog lately because today’s post I want to talk about the embroidery trend. This trend did not have to do much to convince me, unlike the velvet trend. I immediately loved this trend! Embroidery could not be more appropriate for Spring. I associate embroidery with floral-like prints or maybe I gravitate towards florals and hence why I’m seeing only floral embroideries. And I do love florals! I love how I’m seeing embroidery on jackets, jeans, dresses, skirts, and tops. 

How I Wear Embroidery

When I saw this mesh embroidered ruffle blouse, I knew I had to have it. For only $32, it was a steal. The fabric is very lightweight and I find the ruffles and the flutter sleeves to be darling. Plus, I love how the embroidery detail isn’t over the top which makes this blouse so versatile (looks great with skinny ankle jeans and espadrilles wedges, am I right?).
For some reason, I had an itch to create a dramatic outfit post and wanted to be at the lakefront (the weather was too beautiful to not be at the lake). Well the joke was on me because it was so windy. I had a hard time taming my hair, the ruffles, and maxi skirt!  It definitely did not work out the way I pictured – FAIL. There’s a reason why they call it the Windy City!  Does anybody know the real reason why Chicago is called the Windy City? Many people don’t know, but a Chicagoan definitely knows. Curious to hear what you guys think!

Anyway, back to this outfit.

Aside from trying to create a dramatic outfit, I really like how the green maxi skirt brings out the embroidery. All together, the outfit creates a beautiful silhouette. I scored this pleated maxi skirt at a local Chicago boutique, but there are several maxi skirts that are identical to the one I am wearing. I’ve shared them below.

    This caught My eye big time! What a lovely shade of green, beautiful skirt and I am all about the embroidery top! It was the perfect touch and this is the most beautiful outfit and such a gorgeous girl! I love it!

    I didn't know you lived in Chicago. Though it has been very windy here in MI lately too. Love your new top and skirt. Both are so gorgeous together, I don't even know where to look at, first lol.     Love this entire look! I just received a skirt that is identical to this one, but entirely too long for me. Once I have it hemmed I need to style it with a pretty embroidered blouse like you did.
