Getting Used to It

Some of you may noticed that I’ve been out for a while. For some reason, this round of chemo (if you miss the full story, check it out here) it hit me a little bit harder than the last. So I made it my goal to recover as much as possible. Plus, it felt good to be off of social media and not be glued to my phone. I think I will try to do that more often.

Noticed anything different in these photos? I am hoping it is not noticeable. Well as you may know, one of the side of effects of chemo is hair loss and without a doubt I have lost my hair. So in these photos (and going forward), I am wearing my wig. My wig has straight hair but I decided to curl it. Which by the way was the easiest thing to do and it’ll last a couple of weeks! I was losing so much hair that I just had to shave it off. Most of the time I wear a scarf on my head, but on certain occasions, I’ll wear my wig. I’m still getting used to it. I feel like it is obvious but my husband says it looks like my actual hair. So let me know what you guys think!

    I love this jumpsuit on you! I wear wigs all the time, and you are rocking your wig girl! I have worn wigs and weaves since I was out of the womb…kidding, so its easy for me to tell. Your's looks great and very natural, you look beautiful babe! I know you're gorgeous with or without a wig…you are a warrior! You are in my prayers everyday, and I think about you all the time…..I really do. Breast cancer is so close to my heart as I traveled this journey with my mother. Entire look is stunning!

    NEVER would've known this was a wig, it looks beautiful and natural! And while I couldn't imagine dealing with such a transition, there are at least some silver linings — curled hair that lasts for weeks would be awesome haha. I love this entire outfit!

    I honestly would not have known you were wearing your wig if you hadn't mentioned it except for the fact it's a little longer than you previous cut. You continue to amaze me with your positivity, bravery, and attitude. You just seem to be taking all of this in, accepting it, and putting one foot in front of the other. I checked in earlier this week and noticed you hadn't posted. I am glad you are taking the time you need. Take care of yourself! You look bomb in this jumpsuit!!

    You are beautiful. You absolutely CAN NOT tell this is a wig. I even showed your photo to my fiance and said "Isn't her hair really pretty?" He responded yes. When I told him it was a wig, he didn't believe me. Then, I showed in an older photo and he still didn't believe me. Haha. I'm sure this entire journey is difficult for you. You totally could have hidden all of this from us, but you didn't. You spoke out and have remained so positive through it all. I really think this will help so many women going through tough times in their own lives. Even with all you're going through, you're still beaming with positive energy. May that never change. <3
