I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! We had a rainy one. So we dedicated the weekend to staying in and just being lazy. Oh and of course, we gave the blog a face lift! What do you guys think? I still have to work on the kinks, but I think it is an improvement. It’s cleaner, simple, and easier to navigate. A big big BIG thank you to Munich Paris Design for all your help! Without her, I honestly think this new blog design would be a mess!
Mixed Stripe Culottes
When I came across these mixed stripe culottes at Asos, I fell in love. Even though it was love at first sight with these pants, I was hesitant at first. Would it to be too much? Eventually I pulled the trigger (thank you birthday money haha) and it was even better in person. I really love its wide-leg style. It is so wide-leg that it looks like a midi skirt. This is what sold me. It’s like wearing a skirt without the hassle of wearing a skirt. I really think they can be workwear appropriate. I would switch out the cold-shoulder cami (last seen here) with a classic long-sleeve tee and maybe dress it up with a tassel chain necklace.
I love how unique the stripes are patterned on the culottes. The direction of the stripes switches on each leg. In my opinion, I think that’s what gives the culottes the skirt like feature as well. It hides the separation of the leg seams and makes it so much more flattering. I honestly think if the stripes remained in the same direction that it may look like pajamas pants. These striped culottes also come in petite size. I’m 5’4″ and I am wearing the regular length version. Below are other affordable options!
As much as I loved this outfit, I was nervous how it would turn out. When we took these photos, I thought the scar from my port was obvious. Luckily, it is getting better every day and it was not as prominent in the photos as I thought! I am hoping by the time Summer rolls around, that it has completely healed!
