My Trick to Wearing a Low-Cut Dress

Floral Maxi Wrap Dress

I love this floral maxi wrap dress, and for only $40 it was a no brainer to get it. Wrap dresses are so in now and when I got this dress in the mail, I fell more in love with the wrap style.  It just hugs the waist so well and gives the maxi dress some shape. I’ll admit it, sometimes our body can drown in a maxi dress because it lacks some shape or fit to it. Wouldn’t this dress be perfect for a tropical getaway or a day at the beach?!
What I failed to notice when I purchased this dress was that the neckline is low-cut. It actually wasn’t too bad of a low-cut and with my foobies, they actually look great in it. It reminds me of celebrities who can pull off the plunging neckline outfit. They look stunning in it and actually make low-cut look classy. Ok, back to the point, my foobies looked great but I just didn’t feel comfortable. As much as I wanted to pull off the plunging neckline, it just wasn’t me. Plus, I was nervous that if there was a gust of wind, I might expose more than I wanted to. (Side note: I probably wouldn’t notice because I have no feeling in my chest area. Since my nerves were taken out from my mastectomy, I lost sensation. So it’s kinda funny when I don’t notice these things haha!). But I didn’t want to return the dress haha. I just loved the look, style, and print of the dress.

My Trick To Wearing a Low-Cut Dress

So my trick to wearing anything low-cut is to wear a lace bandeau. It’s not only easy to wear but it creates an accent to the outfit without taking away the look and feel of the outfit. For $13 I thought, why not! I’ve tried several other hacks, like wearing a cami tank, but I just didn’t like the idea of having another set of straps on my shoulder. With the lace bandeau, it looks natural as if it is part of the dress. After purchasing this lace bandeau, I’ve been wearing it with a lot of my low-cut tops and dresses.

    What a great idea for being able to rock the dress in your own way 🙂 I can also imagine you styling this dress over a plain white tee too to make it even more casual. Btw, I'm like you – it's my biggest fear that I will expose myself when rocking a style like this. I always ensure I use fashion tape to secure the dress in place. Have you ever tried that?

    I wear bandeaus with my dresses too! Although I do it because I don't feel like wearing a real bra, haha but aren't they so helpful?! Way more comfortable too! Own your foobies, girl!
