Wow, I can’t believe it has been a year of blogging! To be honest, I did not think I could make it a year. A lot has been going on in my personal life that trying to keep a consistent schedule was very difficult. But for once, I had a place where I could showcase my creative outlet and do something for me. For that it kept me motivated! This little blog has given me opportunities I never thought I could be a part of or achieve. However, RD’s Obsessions would not be what it is now if it wasn’t for you! Thank you so much for following along. Your comments, likes, and follows seriously make my day and it is the reason why it surpassed my expectations of what I could achieve here.

I also want to give a special thanks to my fiancé, Tre. This blog for sure would not have existed if it wasn’t for him. He was the one that mentioned I should start a blog (and I kept shaking my head ‘no’ haha) and pushed me to go for it (I guess he was right, I did want to be a blogger and just needed that nudge haha). He supported me throughout this journey and continued to motivate me. He was just as excited as I was with my first brand collaboration or first press feature/mentions. Every success this blog has had, he shared the joy with me as if it was his own. And of course, this blog would not have existed without any photos. Tre took most of these photos and I’m so grateful he takes time out of his busy work schedule to take them. So convenient to have a photographer on hand anytime ;). I am one lucky girl and can’t wait to marry him in 5 months!!

This blog is also special to me because it is 100% genuine me. For those who know me very well, they know I don’t open up much. There’s only a select few around whom I can comfortably be me. I had a little anxiety when starting this blog because it meant I had to open up a little bit about myself to strangers! Looking back at my early posts, I definitely held back. I can tell by how I styled my outfits. I played it safe.  I was nervous about what others may think. Those ‘safe’ outfits are now my least favorite outfits. They just didn’t seem me. The more I felt comfortable dressing how I wanted to dress, the better response I got from my blog. That gave me the confidence to be myself.

To sum it up, RD’s Obsessions was more than just a display of my outfits. It helped me grow as a person. I was able to visualize my growth and appreciate who I am. A year ago, you would never catch me taking a selfie. I would cringe when I see photos of myself. I now have more confidence. It  helped me realize I had all this creativity bottled up in me like photography, web design, product designing, and calligraphy. Now, I’m seeking more (creative) ventures in my life.

  8. Congrats on one year, Rach. It's been wonderful getting to know you! I am also introverted so opening up on my blog was quite weird at first, but I think I've gotten the hang of it now–after 6 years, lol.
