Last month, Tre and I went to Sarasota, Florida. We pretty much go there at least once every year. We have family that lives in Sarasota, and it is always our go-to warm escape from Chicago’s brutally cold winters. If you haven’t been there, you totally should go!

Florida can definitely have that Tropical feel to it due to the warm temperatures, palm trees, and how close it is to the Caribbean. So whenever I pack for Sarasota, I plan outfits with a tropical vibe to them.

It is so fun wearing a good tropical getaway outfit because it is a nice change to what I wear in Chicago. I get to be more creative and style looks out of my norm.

Tropical Getaway Outfit

This year, I found the ultimate must-have tropical getaway outfit. It is the Val Jumpsuit from Show Me Your Mumu. Oo it screams tropical vibes. As you all know, wearing shorts is not usually my thing and I typically wear dresses, skirts, and jumpsuits. So when I saw this jumpsuit on the Show Me Your Mumu site, I knew I had to have it for Sarasota.

Why It Is A Must-Have

The color. This shade of green is so unique and flattering with almost any skin tone. Anyone I know that has seen this jumpsuit in real life has complimented on the color. It is neutral yet makes a statement.

Breathable fabric. Even though this jumpsuit was almost floor length for me (I’m 5’4″), I never felt like I was overheating. The entire time we were there, the weather was between mid and upper 80’s and sunny. The fabric was loose, breezy, and light. It almost felt like I was wearing a dress! Yet, the fabric did not get as easily wrinkled as linen. If there were any wrinkles, they could easily be released by just hanging on a hanger or sometimes I use a wrinkle-release spray! And not see-through at all!

The style. The style of the jumpsuit is what instantly drew me to it. The tie-front closure is so cute and gives it a beachy vibe. I also love that the bottom is a wide-leg style. If the Deep-V neckline is too much for you, I recommend using the Adella bralette from Free People. This bralette is my go-to whenever I think the neckline is too deep. I’m wearing it in this post, but the one I was wearing has a peachy tone. So it blended a bit with my skin tone. But they come in several other colors and they’re so comfortable!!

Comfortable. Speaking of comfortable, this jumpsuit is very comfortable. It has an elastic line waist, so your stomach can breathe. The back is covered. So the only skin exposure occurs in the front of the jumpsuit.

For sizing, it fits true to size!

Love Shopping At Show Me Your MuMu

I’ve always been a fan of shopping at Show Me Your Mumu. They’re a LA-based clothing brand, so all their items have a chic, relaxed, and beach vibe to them. I’ve worn their thermal top, and their PJs are soooo cute! Even their t-shirts are amazing. I love my Venice tee so much because it is soooo soft!

    Love the jumper, but oh no Florida’s humidity though, and last week it was raining like crazy where I live in Florida, I hope that you were able to avoid it. That jumper and color looks so good on you!
