Time For Vacation Style
When it is mid-January (so basically now) I already start thinking about my vacation style. We almost always go to a warm winter getaway to escape the cold. Although, I will admit our Winter has been milder, but for sure the cold front is now coming. Who’s ready for Summer?! Me! Luckily, I’m currently in Sarasota. We always go there at least once a year. I’m ready for the 80 degree weather, lazy days, and hanging out by the pool daily. If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you know that we were at Disney World first!
Anyways, here are some vacation outfit ideas. There are some vacation style pieces that I think are essential whenever you are heading some place warm like a flowy maxi dress, jumpsuit, the perfect denim shorts, and of course sunscreen! I’ll explain below, but I found THE BEST sunscreen and it happens to have clean ingredients too!
Whenever the weather is warm, I always gravitate toward bags that are wood-like and with unique handles. This bag has a round wood handle and is made with a textured cotton jacquard fabric which gives it that boho look.
A good swimsuit coverup / beach dress is for sure a must for a warm winter getaway. This beach dress is super chic. Honestly, I probably would wear it also just as a normal dress instead of a coverup. I love the tiered styled and puffed sleeves!
Love Summersalt swimsuits and I wish I saw this exact one in time to order it for our trip! This is one of the cutest one-pieces. The flutter sleeve and the low back take this one-piece swimsuit to a whole new level. I showcased the polka dot one, but it also comes in 3 other styles and 2 of them have solid colors.
Havaianas are my go to for flip flops and I brought the same exact one with me. They have that classic flip flop look, but with a bit more style to it. They’re also very comfortable and made to last. I have had mine for years!
Who doesn’t love a good twist knot headband? They have been my favorite hair accessory lately. They’re also a great way to style your hair if you haven’t rinsed/are having a bad hair day.
Everyone raves about the AGOLDE denim shorts! I’m intrigued because they’re very similar to my favorite denim shorts. I love that they’re slightly longer in length (butt coverage!!!) but not too long that they’re bermuda shorts.
I’ve been on a hunt for the perfect gingham swimsuit for a while and J.Crew nailed what I was looking for. This is a french bikini top because it is not quite the typical triangle style. Anything with shoulder-ties makes the piece so much cuter, don’t ya think?
This is the matching gingham bottom. I love that it is high-waisted and has butt coverage. This is what I was initially struggling with when I was looking for gingham swimsuits – no butt coverage!
Who doesn’t love a flowy boho dress on a warm winter getaway?! It just screams vacation. So effortless! I have this one and love it! The straps are adjustable and it has lining.
Another tie shoulder feature, but I couldn’t resist. It would look so good with the AGOLDE denim shorts. The front and back have a v-neck neckline.
Quay is my go-to for affordable and high-quality sunglasses. They look like they could be luxury sunglasses!
You know me, I love jumpsuits and obviously had to have one here. This jumpsuit has a wide-leg style with slits on the side. So cute!
I love wearing hats on vacation. The only problem is that they’re so hard to pack. This wide brim hat is packable! How amazing is that! It can be flattened or folded. It has rave reviews so it must hold up real well.
Obviously I needed to add sandals here and my first choice was from Naturalizer. Comfortable all day while still looking cute!
So this is the sunscreen I am RAVING about. I love that it is made with clean ingredients – so no toxins! But I love that it blends really well and doesn’t feel like sunscreen. I hate how sunscreen feels on your skin and when it leaves white streaks. This one is colorless and works great as a makeup primer. It also claims it minimizes your pores. I couldn’t tell but regardless it is one of the best sunscreens out there even if you are not into clean beauty.
This straw bag is the same one I brought with me in Rome, Florence, and Venice. As I mentioned earlier, anything woody or straw-like screams vacation and I had to include this one in my vacation style guide!
Vacation Outfits – What I Packed
So here are some of my vacations outfits! I packed more, but these are the new pieces I am bringing with me.
Here is my size for reference when I share my thoughts on sizing. I weigh about 140 lbs, 5’4″ tall, and chest is 32C. For tops, I usually wear a size small or size 4. For bottoms, I usually wear a size small, size 27, or size 4. Hope this helps!
This dress fits true to size but does have a boxier fit. I shared how it looks with and without the belt. I love how both look. The dress is very well made and high quality. This one can be worn during the day or as evening wear. If styled well, it can definitely be worn to a summer wedding!
I love the vibrant color of this dress! I sized down so I am wearing an XS. Overall, it fits well. The armpit fits snugger than I expected but not too much that I want to return it. If I were to get a small, I think the armpit section would have been too big.
This maxi dress screams vacation doesn’t it?! I love its boho style. It fits true to size. I love that it is not see-through at all for a cream colored dress. It has a light lining underneath. You can also find this dress at Revolve or Free People.
One of my favorite Spring tops. It fits true to size and the buttons go all the way to the bottom. It has a pretty yellow color.
Are you guys going anywhere warm during the Winter?
