Yellow Open Tie-Back Dress + Weekend Recap
How was everyone’s weekend? Over the weekend, my husband went to a sports convention that only occurs every other year in Chicago. My husband is a big sports fanatic and loves collecting sports memorabilia from his favorite teams and players. This weekend he went to see some of the Buffalo Bills NFL legends. It was so nice to hear that all the players were really nice guys. I don’t know why, but I love knowing when athletes are genuinely good people. Tre went with his dad (not quite sure I would enjoy as much) so I stayed behind with him mom. We decided while the boys are out doing something they love to do, that we should do something that we love to do… Shopping!!
We discovered a really cute coffee shop, Around Cafe (you guys, that place is so Instagram-worthy!). The coffee was delicious and so were the donuts! I was shocked that they have Ube donuts. If you’re Filipino, you are probably familiar with Ube. For those who are not familiar with Ube, it is a sweet purple yam. They topped the Ube donuts with Oreos, nuts, or coconuts. Then we did some damage at Loft. When we walked in, everything was 50% off. I scored the cutest striped skirt for work and am currently wearing it in the office. I’ll try to share it on Instagram as soon as I can!
Yellow Open Tie-Back Dress
If you haven’t noticed, I’m a sucker for yellow this summer. I’ve worn a paisley print one, an eyelet one, a floral print one, and I shared a round up of my favorite yellow pieces. So when I came across this yellow mini-dress, I naturally gravitated towards it because of its mustard yellow color. But when I saw the back, I knew this was another yellow dress I just had to add to my collection. The open tie-back feature was so cute! The back is self-tie and the straps are adjustable. I was able to wear a strapless bra with this dress. At first, I thought I had to be bra-less, but right where you tie covers the back straps.
This is a simple yellow mini dress, but the back for sure makes a statement. I think the open tie-back is unique! It’s what gives this simple dress some character. It also gives it room to accessorize it just the way you want it to be. If I were going out to a nicer place for dinner, I might add these Elsa Drop Earrings or these Crispin Drops Earrings if I’m hanging out with my girls.
