My has time changed. I have 5 best podcasts to recommend. To give a little history, I’m late to the game about listening to podcasts. Ask me about Podcasts last year and it would go over my head. I remember trying to listen to them. Every single one of my friends (or at least it felt like all of them) were listening to podcasts. Every media outlet would talk about them. My attention span couldn’t handle it. I would fall asleep immediately haha.
Fast forward to now, and I’ve been listening to what I believe are the best podcasts to listen to. I think it is all about finding the right niche. And I think you will notice that there is a pattern to the type of podcasts I like to listen to. To be honest, this is probably the only 5 I religiously listen to. But of course that can change through time.
Why These Are The Best Podcasts
One thing I loved about these podcasts is they definitely make my commute through the city much more pleasant. And sometimes I listen to them while I workout. I can mindlessly learn something. It helps add a spark to my day. Gives me the push to motivate myself. Or they add humor to my commute. They feel like girl time chat!
5 Best Podcasts For Better Morning Commutes
Second Life
This is probably my favorite! It is hosted by Hillary Kerr, co-founder of Who What Wear and Who What Wear Collection (you all know I love sharing this collection so much!). Basically she interviews women who are dominating in their career (or business). But to get to where they are, they all made major career changes, hence the name Second Life. I love that Hillary asks about where they started, did they love it, and how it led them to where they are now. And a topic most women don’t talk about…FINANCE! Although I’m no superstar, yet I feel like I can relate because I’m in the stage of my life of wanting a “Second Life”, and it is so inspiring to hear that many of them were feeling what I am currently feeling and seeing how successful they are.
Superwomen with Rebecca Minkoff
You guessed it, Rebecca Minkoff is the host! Yes, that amazing designer. The concept of this podcast is similar to Second Life, but each interview is no longer than 30 minutes. But I am impressed how much information I can get in half an hour. This podcast interviews women who are a force in their life. Hearing how they navigate life with their demanding careers while having other responsibilities such as being a mother and other life challenges.
The Betchelor
Who here enjoys watching The Bachelor franchise (The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, Bachelor In Paradise)? This podcast was created by Betches. And if you don’t know them, get to know them. They are hilarious and love their Instagram! Anyways, it was only fitting that they started this podcast. They pretty much talk about the most recent Bachelor franchise shows (so currently it is The Bachelorette, Hannah’s season). Honestly, my motivation to watch the show is to listen to The Betchelor. They nailed it with their recap and they crack me up! It is hosted by Kay (from Betches) and Derek Peth. Yes, that Derek that cried home in Jojo’s season and who proposed to Taylor in BIP. Also, Derek gives Bachelor insider as well. It’s so good guys. Since Derek went to BIP this season, it will be even more fun to listen to this podcast when BIP airs. Basically, he will be live roasted.
Bad On Paper
This feels like girl time chat whenever I listen to this podcast! The topics vary from life as a 30-something girl, beauty/fashion, books, careers, dating, and hearing interviews from amazing people. It is hosted by Grace Atwood (from The Stripes) and Becca Freeman. Anything you and your girl friends like to talk about, you get it out of this podcast. To be honest, I thought it was a pointless podcast (before I listened to it). I couldn’t imagine a podcast that talks about anything could be good. I was hooked after listening to one episode!
The Lively Podcast: No Make Up Needed
This podcast is hosted by the founder of Lively, Michelle Cordeiro Grant. Lively is a women’s fashion brand that specializes in comfortable & size inclusive bra, lingerie, and activewear. Their goal is to make women feel good in their own skin. They recently sent me bras and I’m in the process of trying them out!
Michelle interviews powerhouse women and gets raw with them about their careers, passion, life, and how they juggle it all. I love that this podcast solidifies what the Lively brand stands for. And I love hearing Michelle’s thought process throughout her interviews. Definitely an amazing and inspiring woman. I had the pleasure to meet her in person, and she was incredible!
