I never thought I was a sneakers girl (aside from going to the gym) and didn’t fully understand the fascination. Dresses with sneakers was the furthest thing in my mind. It wasn’t until the classic white sneakers re-emerged a couple years. Now I love to wear a pair of white sneakers. At first, I only associated wearing sneakers with jeans. So I only wore them with jeans for a casual outfit.

The more I wore them, the more I realized that they’re so versatile and I started to experiment wearing them with dresses. Now I love to wear sneakers with dresses all the time. As long as they’re the classic white shoes, I’m all set. I especially love to wear them when we travel. Whenever we travel, we walk everywhere. We can easily walk over 20,000 steps a day. So I obviously want my feet to be comfortable and always make sure to pack them with me.

Since I love wearing white sneakers with dresses, here are some quick tips!

Look For the White Tennis Shoes

The white tennis shoe style has that classic look. Which means they can go with anything!

Make Sure They’re Comfortable

Maybe it’s just me, but if I’m going to wear sneakers, then I want to make sure they’re comfortable. It’s the perks of wearing a pair of white sneakers. Trust me, there’s a few sneakers I’ve bought in the past that were not comfortable.

Keep It Simple

You want to make sure that your white sneakers are simple, no frill and no trendy details. You want them to last and again go with every outfit and dress. While they may not look anything special, that’s the point. You want your dress to compliment the shoes not clash.

Leather Shoes Are Best

Maybe it’s just me, but I think it’s better when the exterior of my tennis shoes are made with leather. They’re easy to clean. You can easily remove any scuff or dirt. Don’t get me wrong, I’m also a fan of the canvas shoes too. However, they don’t maintain that white color very long.

Best White Sneakers to Wear With Dresses

If you’ve been reading my blog for awhile, you may have noticed that there is this one pair of white sneakers that I wear and I swear by. It is the Morrison Sneakers by Naturalizer. I rave about Naturalizer all the time, but their shoes are THAT good and these sneakers are THAT good. You’ll see in all my outfit ideas below how well they pair with dresses. But I love them because they have the classic white tennis shoes style, leather exterior, and are EXTREMELY comfortable. I’m also considering getting one of their slip-on sneakers.

I’m also a big fan of Cole Haan’s white tennis shoes. A lot of people also rave about the Veja Sneakers.

Dress Outfits Styled With White Sneakers

Here are outfit ideas that you can wear with white sneakers. As you can tell from most of these photos, I wore them when we were traveling. They were perfect for Rome, Barcelona, Lisbon, etc. It’s a great way to keep that casual style when wearing dresses while still being comfortable.

So for this outfit, if you are not into wearing a faux leather jacket, I would recommend wearing a denim jacket. I brought my denim jacket with me as well and it was a great layering piece!

    Just like you I love to match my dresses with white sneakers.
    I love the style it gives and it’s just so easy to match any dresses with a pair of white sneakers.
    And I’m not gonna lie when I travel or have to walk lot this is much better than a pair of heels or sandals.

    I practically live in my white sneakers, and YES – I definitely wear them with dresses. Comfy and a great way to make a dress look a little bit more casual. It’s a great option, especially for the summertime. Your suggestions here are fantastic.
