I get it. Who wants to dress up for the holidays if there is seriously no where to go. In the past, the only reason I purchased a sequined dress for the holidays is because I have holiday parties to go to. It was the perfect excuse to wear something out of the ordinary and feeling a bit sparkly and extra.

I do recommend that everyone should stay home and practice safe protocols because of the coronavirus pandemic. However, don’t let that stop you if dressing up is truly what helps you get in the holiday spirit. For me, dressing up just gets me out of that funk and make myself feel a little more special. So if you need that holiday sparkle dress, go get it girl.

So today’s post is obviously about holiday sparkle dresses. Let me tell you, it felt so good to dress up for these photos even if I was only in my living room. I put on some makeup and red lipstick and I was already in a good mood.

My Sequined Dress

When I first post this dress on Instagram and our holiday card post, I love that you all love it as much as I do. I rented this dress from Nuuly and it is called the Golden Goddess Maxi by Hermant & Nandita. It was at Anthropologie, Revolve, and Shopbop but I think it might be sold out now. However, being pregnant and all, I wasn’t so sure about making this purchase just yet. Plus, any time you rent clothes from Nuuly, you can always purchase it at a discounted rate. So I figured if I love it, I can always buy it. But this Needle & Patchwork Sequined Dress and Flower Sequined Midi Dress is very similar to the one I’m wearing.

Let me talk about sizing real quick. I’m around 24 weeks (closer to 25 weeks) and it is bump-friendly even if it is a non-maternity dress. My usual size (pre-pregnancy) is a size small. But I got the XS in this dress and it actually fits and there’s plenty of room for the bump. So my guess is that this dress runs a bit large and if you are not pregnant, you will have to size down. The only change I did with the dress is I hiked up the waistband over my bump.

The dress is flowy and flattering. I really like the neckline and I just felt good in it. Hence, why I’m a big proponent on getting a holiday sparkle to get you in the mood. We have more days in the year to wear loungewear or athleisure.

    You’re making me want to dress up and put on festive makeup, even if it’s just to dance around my living room for an evening. I need the excuse to wear my favorite fancy things. Maybe I’ll plan a “dressed up” date night at home sometime soon. Loving your dress here! It’s gorgeous!

    I have the same mindset! This Christmas we are going to be only 6 (my parents, my siblings, my brother-in-law and myself) when usually we are between 12 and 21)… but I’m going to dress up anyways! Because this pandemic isn’t going to take my Christmas spirit 😉
