How to Style a Velvet Jumpsuit for the Holidays

Style a Velvet Jumpsuit

As I previously mentioned, I love wearing jumpsuits and they’re especially a good alternative to dresses for your holiday outfits. So when I saw this velvet jumpsuit from 1.STATE, I knew immediately I wanted to create a holiday outfit with it. Doesn’t velvet scream holiday material?! Plus, in the last few years, velvet has been trending. In my opinion, if styled properly, velvet can also be a classic piece to wear all year round. However, today’s post is all about how to wear it for the holidays.

1.STATE

I’ve been a fan of 1.STATE for awhile now. I mostly get their pieces at Nordstrom. So I can’t believe I am partnering with them in this post! 1.STATE is a contemporary women’s brand. Their style is a good mixture of fashion-forward meets classic meets feminine. I know, it sounds like a very loaded description, but trust me you’ll totally get it as soon as you check out their stuff! My velvet jumpsuit and faux fur coat are from them! Velvet Jumpsuit

Overall, this jumpsuit fits true to size. I wore my usual size which is a size small. To get a better idea, in dresses and tops, I also wear a size 4. I weigh about 140lbs and my height is 5’4″. The length of this jumpsuit was perfect! I could probably wear flats with them!

This outfit is comfortable! It is like wearing a dressed-up pajamas. So if you are looking for comfort for your holiday outfit, then you will need this jumpsuit! Oh and it has POCKETS!! I know you all are like me and think pockets are the best! It has a tie-waist. You can style the attached sash in the front, side, or back. I decided to style it on the side. The back has a key-hole detail and the front has a crossover style. Super cute and classic!

Faux Mink Coat

How gorgeous is this faux mink coat?! I wish you could feel how soft this coat is! When I was putting on this outfit, Tre could not get over how soft it was. He couldn’t believe how amazing it felt! Haha! I’m wearing this faux mink coat in the Honey Pot color. It is basically a deeper mustard yellow color.

The fit is also true to size. I’m wearing a small. I love that I didn’t have to size up. Sometimes ‘fancier’ coats tend to be snug around the armpit area. Ugh, I hate that. So I was glad I was able to move comfortably in this coat. I will definitely use this coat for all my holiday outfits. It also comes in plus size!

How to Style a Velvet Jumpsuit for the Holidays

Add a Faux Fur Coat

Faux fur coat screams Winter luxury doesn’t it? Plus, the Winter season is the only appropriate time to wear it. So take advantage of it! As I mentioned above, I cannot recommend my faux mink coat enough. If the Honey Pot color is not for you, they also have it in Blue Night (navy blue), Deep Rouge (red), Luster Nude (blush pink), and Rich Black.

Add Statement Earrings

If you want to elevate any outfit, for sure a good pair of statement earrings will do. I went with a more studded style statement earrings, but you can pretty much wear any type of statement earrings.

Add Hair Accessories

Just like statement earrings, adding accessories will make a difference to your outfit. Right now, I’m so into knotted headbands, which is the style I’m wearing here. But I also love wearing hair clips, hair bows, and hair ties! They also make an amazing gift!

Add Pop of Red

Nothing screams holiday more than wearing red. I love adding pops of red whenever I can. My favorite way to add a pop of red is a red lipstick and/or red heels! So easy to do and it makes such a difference!
