I finally own a pair of Express Jeans! I’ll be honest, Express didn’t come to mind to purchase jeans. In fact, whenever I think of Express, I think about my college days (which was wayyy over 10 years ago). Express was the go to for all my college going out outfits. I think almost every girl who went to school at the University of Iowa shopped at Express. There was a Ped Mall around campus and Express was one of the few clothing stores. If I (or anyone) wanted to shop at other clothing stores, I would have had to find someone with a car to drive me to a nearby mall. Which is rare because not many people brought their car with them to college.
Anyways in the past couple years, I’ve been hearing more and more people rave about Express jeans. Several well-known bloggers like The Sweetest Thing, Southern Curls & Pearls, and Hello Fashion, talk about how amazing their Express jeans are. Also, I’m always on the hunt for great jeans. I have my go-to which is usually Madewell, Everlane, and sometimes Abercrombie & Fitch. But as you well know, it is great to have more options.
The jeans I am wearing in this post are super high-waisted wide-leg jeans. I’ve been on a hunt for wide-leg jeans that are not cropped and Express was one of the few brands that carried them that wasn’t expensive! I got my true size which is a size 4 and it fits well. Definitely pleased with it. The tricky part about these jeans is that they are high-waisted, so it is slightly (and I mean slightly) loose on the waist. So you can size down if you want. Especially since they have stretch to them.
They are long, so I wore these booties with them, but they still dragged. I’ll most likely get them hemmed. I’m 5’4 for reference. In general, I’m a big fan of their wide-leg jeans! Express has totally converted me to go to them for wide-leg jeans!
Remember this striped sweater? It’s from Amazon and it was part of my Amazon sweater round up. I love how fitted this sweater is and it paired well with the wide leg jeans. The button details on both the jeans and sweater give it a little sumthin’ sumthin’.
I also got these white cropped wide-leg jeans. Same sizing. The button fly is what sold me. Button fly jeans just make jeans look 10x more chic!
Here are other wide-leg jeans I am eyeing:
Other Express Jeans Review
I went to an Express store just to try on their jeans. I tried their skinny jeans because I wear them all the time during Winter (easy to wear with boots). The skinny jeans fit true to size, and overall I was pleased with the fit. However, I’m not overly crazy about them compared to what other bloggers say. Does that mean I will never wear their skinny jeans? Probably not. They are a great affordable option.
I will say I am disappointed that they don’t have high waisted skinny jeans. They were all mid-rise. If you want high waisted skinny jeans, you would have to get it under their jeggings. Jeggings are great, but they still don’t compare to a good pair of true denim. Ya know?
I didn’t try other types of jeans because I focused on the style I wear frequently. I would assume the sizing and fit would be the same. But definitely, love the price point and Express always has promos!
