Dressing For Winter

Dressing during the winter is such a drag. When it is cold out, I am lazy, and when I’m lazy I lack the urge to want to put an effort into my clothes. I just want to stay warm. But in the past couple years, I have gained go-to winter accessories to help my winter outfits look chicish with less effort. Yay to effortless outfits!

Can you tell by my photos which are my go-to winter accessories? It is probably obvious. But seriously these two accessories can make wearing just jeans, a t-shirt, and sneakers kind of outfit look chic.

My Go-To Winter Accessories

My go-to during winter is a rancher hat and an oversized scarf. I love wearing a rancher hat because of the look. It is a nice change compared to the usual winter hats (which are usually knitted beanies). The rancher hat has a fashion-forward style to it. Most are made out of wool, which is probably one of the best fabrics to wear during the Winter. Wool is definitely a fabric that will keep you warm. So if you have to stay warm, why not choose one that will make you look chic, right?

The Rancher Hat

My favorite place to buy rancher hats is Anthropologie. They have the best selection. The styles are chic, the quality is amazing, and the fit is perfect. My rancher hat has an adjustable width, which I think is hard to find. I have bought hats from Anthropologie in the past, and they have lasted me for years. So while the price-tag is slightly higher, you know you get your money’s worth.

The Oversized Scarf

A scarf is an obvious favorite winter accessory. I don’t think there is a person I have met that didn’t like them. But to be specific, I’m all about the oversized scarf. Just like the rancher hat, the oversized style provides extra warmth, but it is so versatile. You can style it in so many different ways! Plus, I adore the chunky styles during Winter because it gives the outfit a cozy feel. That look can easily be achieved with an oversized scarf.

My scarf is from Mark & Graham. It comes in several colors and you can get your monogram on it. It might be slightly difficult to see because the monogram is the same color as the white gridlines, but the personalization to it gives it a nice touch. This is another amazing scarf that is made to last because of the quality. Last year, I couldn’t stop raving about why this is the only scarf you need. But I would totally be lying if I said this is the only one I own haha.

Elevate The Winter Outfit

Can you now see how these two accessories can elevate your winter outfit? They can even be worn when you are transitioning seasons. I’m a fan of a button-styled long sleeve, with rancher hat, ankle jeans and cute loafers during early Spring. And I would bring along my oversized scarf as a layering piece. I’m also obsessed with pairing the hat with a flowy maxi dress and sock booties.

In case some of you were not aware, I took these outfit photos when we had milder winter temperatures. Remember those 50 degrees temps?! Otherwise, I totally would have worn it with a structured wool coat.
