How to Wear Faux Leather For The Holidays
You know what I realized I don’t talk much about… faux leather. I love to wear faux leather. But for some reason, it has that ‘edginess vibe’ to it. In my opinion, there are ways to soften up the vibe. As you all may have noticed, I tend to lean towards a more feminine style. So here I will share with you how to wear faux leather for the holidays. To be honest, all of these outfits can be worn anytime during the year. Maybe not in the Summer. The thought of sweat and humidity during the Summer months sounds awful with leather. But, you can wear faux leather in the Fall (which I think is the best time to wear it), Winter (i.e. like the holidays!), and Spring. All it takes is changing a few things and playing with different clothing textures.
Btw, did you know I’m pregnant in all of these outfits? The outfits with the A-line skirt I’m around 17 weeks pregnant. The outfit with the pleated leather skirt, I was around 23 weeks pregnant. Crazy seeing how much my body has changed. It’s pretty cool!
How To Wear Faux Leather For The Holidays
As I mentioned earlier, while I may be talking about creating a holiday outfit, please do keep an open mind. I truly think all of these outfits would work for three out of the four seasons. I recommend switching up the color palettes to make it more appropriate for the season you are dressing for.
Wear Neutral Colors
If wearing festive colors is not your thing, I recommend wearing neutral colors. In this outfit, I decided to pair my faux leather skirt with a chunky knit sweater. I love this chunky knit sweater so much. It has the perfect beige color, which means it can pretty much go with any color or any print. This sweater also has subtle puff sleeves to it. The best part, is that it is very affordable! For the quality, you’d be impressed with the price. It also fits true to size and is bump friendly (obviously). I’m wearing a small.
Pro Tip:
Pairing a baggy sweater with anything high-waisted is difficult because there’s bulkiness, etc. So I recommend wearing a skinny belt over your sweater where your waist line is. Then slowly, tuck out the sweater until it appears to look like you ‘tucked-in” your sweater into your skirt or pants. Works like a charm!

Wear Plaid Print
Wearing plaid or tartan plaid is perfect for the holidays. This time of year, there are so many different options and you can easily create a festive look with it. Typically, I pick a plaid pattern or tartan print that has green or red in it. Again, I’m thinking about holiday colors. But of course, feel free to choose and wear the color combinations you like the best.

Wear Red Colors
Red is such a power color! Without a doubt, wearing red is associated with the holidays. This time, I decided to wear a pleated leather skirt. I love this skirt because as you can see, it is very bump friendly. My bump seemed like it grew overnight, and I need the elastic-waist band haha. Overall, this skirt fits true to size and I didn’t find it necessary to size up with my growing bump. The only difference is that the skirt is not as midi length. My growing belly, made it a bit shorter. So just keep that in mind. I’m only 5’4″.
I went with my puff-sleeve sweater, but any red top will do. I actually love this outfit so much that I’ll probably dedicate a post to it relatively soon!

High-Quality Faux Leather
Buying faux leather can be tricky because there are several out there that look really cheap. I have purchased some in the past that look more like plastic than faux leather. So just be sure when you buy faux leather, that it doesn’t look cheap or like plastic. It can really make a difference with your outfit. I usually get them at H&M and Mango for affordable options. These two retailers almost always have faux leather.
So what are your thoughts on wearing faux leather?
