I honestly didn’t think I would be into a sweater maxi dress until a few weeks ago. I always thought I was too short for them. Sweaters are made with much chunkier fabric and I figured if I’m head to toe in a sweater-like fabric, I will look like I’m drowning in it. So in the past, I always ignored them. But I loved them on other girls!

Then a few weeks ago, I had the urge to really want to try out the sweater maxi dress. I kept thinking to myself, if I had the right pair of boots, I think it would work! And that’s when I went for it with Pashmina Collection. Let me tell you, I was so nervous! When I got it, I knew immediately I had to wear it with my sock booties! Since then, I’ve shared two Instagram posts in a row on this sweater maxi dress.

3 Different Styles

The reason why I wore it in two Instagram posts in a row is because I realized this sweater maxi dress can be styled several different ways.

By Itself

It can be worn just by itself. I also think replacing the sock booties with calf-length boots would look incredible. What makes this particular sweater dress perfect to wear by itself is the button detailing. The gold buttons are a gorgeous add-on to this simple dress. The buttons can also unbutton, which I love because it makes it easier to put on without messing with my hair or makeup.

Layering Piece

The sweater maxi dress can be worn as a layering a piece. I layered mine with the gridline coat. By the way, the gridline coat is not as thick as I thought it would be. This is the one time the reviews disappointed me. They all claim it would be warm, but there is no way I would wear it during Chicago winters. It’s perfect for milder winter temperatures or Fall temps. If you want to learn more about shopping at Shein, read my tips here.

Anyways, I think it would also look great with a slipdress. Slipdresses are hard to wear during Winter because they are not made for cold weather. However, wearing it underneath gives the slipdress more warmth to it!

A New Set

My favorite way to style the sweater maxi dress is by creating a new outfit set. When we had our annual family dinner last Sunday, I paired this sweater maxi dress with my gold pleated skirt. When I shared it with you through InstaStory and Instagram post, you all loved it! I loved that it added another layer of warm, and overall gave the dress a whole new look. It’s like wearing a bodysuit with the skirt but more convenient to go to the bathroom haha!

As I mentioned earlier, I also think pairing any sweater maxi dress with calf-length boots would look incredible! These are the ones I’m loving!
