It’s Been A While Since I’ve Worn Them
It’s been YEARS since I’ve worn denim shorts, let alone a pair of cut off denim shorts. I’ll admit, I feel uncomfortable wearing shorts in general (even mini skirts sometimes). I just don’t find them flattering on my figure/legs. My philosophy is that I don’t have to wear something if I don’t feel good about it. I’m a big proponent on you don’t have to wear something just because it is trendy. ALWAYS dress for you and your outfit(s) will naturally shine because of your confidence in them.
Why I Rarely Wear Shorts
Another main reason I’m not into shorts or mini skirts is due to my butt. I don’t necessarily have a large butt but it is really round and bubbly (haha!). If I were to do a side profile, you’d definitely notice it haha.Which means when I wear any type of bottoms (pants, skirt, shorts, etc), the back is always shorter because my butt takes up so much space.
It is not a bad problem to have but shopping for bottoms can be annoying or frustrating. I sometimes would have to go up a size (or two) so that my bottoms can go over my butt. Can you now see my problem with shorts? Haha.
For sure I struggle finding shorts that fit me to my liking. The length in the front is fine, but the length in the back makes it look like I am wearing booty shorts. I don’t want anyone to see my butt cheeks! If I go up a size, then the waist would be so loose. The struggle is real. And during the summer sometimes I am in the mood to just slip on a cute pair of cut off denim shorts!
Most Talked About Denim Shorts With Butt Coverage
Then I finally found a pair of cut off denim shorts that I’ve heard would be great for people with a booty. Almost everyone has been raving about the AGOLDE shorts. I’ve seen several bloggers wear them and it appears to be the perfect fit. However, I can’t justify the price tag. Plus the sizing seems to be all over the place. Some say you need to size down, others say get your size, and some even said go up a size. Uhhhh I don’t think there should be quite this much variance when it comes to sizing. I am willing to splurge if the fit is perfect, but I couldn’t decide on the size.
Actually Found The Perfect Denim Shorts WITH Butt Coverage
However, one day I walked into Abercrombie & Fitch and found these shorts. HALLELUJAH! When I saw it on the rack, I was attracted to the fact that the length in the back looked longer than the front. So I picked 3 different sizes and tried them out. Plus, it looks almost identical to the AGOLDE shorts.
YESSSS!! They are the perfect pair of cut off denim shorts for all my ladies with a booty. The length in the back is for sure longer. So you have the appearance of cut off shorts without any butt cheeks. I also love the fact that they’re high-waisted too!
They fit true to size. So whatever size you wear in jeans, that is what I recommend getting. However, I did go up a size (size 28) because I wanted them to fit slightly looser around the thighs.
If you know any more denim shorts with butt coverage, feel free to recommend them to me!
