What do you move for? For instance, what compels you to do what you do? I had never really taken a minute to stop and think about it before. I think it is because it is something that just happens naturally. I don’t about you, but the times when I have had to stop and think about something is usually when I’m in a more perplexed state of mind.
I started questioning what I move for because of Easy Spirit’s current campaign. I noticed the #MoveFor, but did not dig deep into what that hashtag really means until recently. If you look up that hashtag on Instagram, it is very touching. Women around the world are sharing what motivates them and it is so inspiring.
So without further ado, this is what I #MoveFor.
Top 5 Things That Drive Me
1. My Life.
Life can pass right by you in the blink of a eye. There’s no rewind button and we only get one chance. Life is precious and so we have to make the most of it. After my breast cancer diagnosis, it confirmed that life and living is a gift and it really is up to us how we want to handle life. We have a choice to be happy and to live it to the fullest, and that is what I aim to do.
2. My Body
My body has gone through so much and it is still healing and recovering. I know it will never be the same anymore and I have accepted that it will no longer be my ‘before cancer’ body. But I have learned to love it. It has shown me its strength and it continues to be resilient. And I will continue to be my best and to take my body back from cancer.
3. My Husband
He is my best friend, soulmate, and the love of my life. Tre has made me a better person. I honestly don’t know what I would do if he wasn’t in my life. He is the reason why this blog started and why I am able to handle cancer. We are each other’s number one cheerleader.
4. My Family
I love my family and will do anything for them. It is the kind of love that comes naturally and there is no limitation to the amount of support we give each other. Every day, I wake up in the morning being so grateful and blessed to have a loving family.
5. My Breasties
It is the best kind of sisterhood. We can be open about anything in our lives and there is no judgement there. We are the only ones who understand our struggles. Because of our struggles, I want to fight and raise awareness for more research to cure this disease. About 1.5% of people diagnosed with breast cancer are in their 20’s. As soon as the cancer moves outside the breast, this disease is terminal. Young women with breast cancer do not get enough attention.
These are the top 5 things that I move for. However, I know there are more than 5 things in my life that continue to motivate and inspire me on a daily basis. That is the beauty of it. There are so many things going on in our lives that are worthy. Worthy of us and worthy to inspire. So what do you move for?
