Our Gender Neutral Nursery Ideas
We’ve been getting started on the nursery room. I’m currently 23 weeks and I just want to get as much done as possible so that as I get closer to our due date, I can relax and the rest of my pregnancy is adding the final touches to the room.
Since we decided to wait to find out the gender of the baby, it only made sense that we have a gender neutral nursery room. I’ll admit, it is definitely challenging. Most baby stuff is either blue or pink. But at the same time, it was a fun challenge. It got me to be more creative.
Most gender neutral baby rooms use the color grey. While I think it is a great color, I wanted something different. So the color scheme actually wasn’t decided until we picked out the necessities for the room (crib, dresser, changing tray, etc). Then when we were putting together our baby registry, I started to notice a pattern. We were leaning towards the color sage green, cream, and beige. While I’m not totally tied to these colors, I think they work out perfect for a gender neutral room.
I was also inspired by Danish kids room decor. When we went to Copenhagen, and I mentioned it in our baby announcement post, I instantly fell in love with the style.
Gender Neutral Nursery Ideas
We have purchased most of the items here. Of course, we will be adding more decor elements. But overall this is the style and scheme we are going for.
1 Ivory Sage Vintage Area Rug
We have hardwood floors throughout our house so an area rug is a must. We recently ordered this ivory-sage green rug in the 6×9 size. Not only do I love the style, but I love how affordable it is!
2 White Floor Lamp
This floor lamp will go behind the gliding chair. That way we can read and feed our baby at night without turning on the main room light.
3 Swivel Glider With Storage Ottoman
Everyone has told us that we must get a really good glider chair since we will spend a lot of time in it. So we looked at a lot. Initially, there were a few we really loved. They were on the pricier end but we knew it would be worth it. Until we came across this glider. It was perfect and felt just as good as the pricey options but at least half the cost! We also loved that it came with a storage ottoman.
4 Peel & Stick Stripe Wallpaper
We wanted an accent wall and decided a peel & stick wallpaper might be a good option. We love the peel & stick because it is easy to install and easy to remove. This is still TBD for us. We are waiting to see how all the furniture looks in the space before installing the wallpaper.
5 Ivory Woven Flushmount Light
I love this flushmount light! We received it a couple weeks ago and it really does transform the room.
6 Hot Air Balloon Mobile
My sister-in-law shared this mobile with me and I instantly loved it. She knew we wanted a hot air balloon theme and this mobile was perfect. You can customize the colors and switch out to the animal of your choice.
7 Solid La Jolla Basket
I’ve always been a fan of Serena & Lily’s La Jolla Baskets. I’ve shared it in several other Serena & Lily posts. I want to use this basket as a hamper and I’ll purchase a cotton laundry bag to be placed in the interior.
8 Babyletto Lolly 3 in 1 Convertible Crib
This is the crib we purchased. I just love how the white and natural wood looks together and overall the simple style. The crib also was highly reviewed and is a Greengard Certified crib.
9 Ubbi Diaper Pail
The Ubbi brand is the diaper pail we decided to add to our registry. Of course, I selected the sage green color.
10 Brass Drawer Pull
I want to replace the drawer knobs of the dresser and give it more personality. I figured a gold accent will work.
11 6-Drawer Double Dresser
This is the dresser we decided to go with. We figured with this style, we can use this for the baby for a long time or for a second baby. The dresser will also be used as a changing table by adding a changing tray and contour changing pad.
12 Sherpa Bear Plush Nursery Rocker
How adorable is this bear rocker! It’s such a sweet addition to the room.
13 Beaumont Book Ledge
I wanted a simple shelf that would not take up as much space. These book ledges are perfect for storing the picture books. We ordered 3 of them!
Kids Books

15 You Matter by Christian Robinson
16 Apple Cake by Dawn Casey
17 The Wonderful Things You Will Be by Emily Winfield Martin

I always did my nursery with a very antique look to it.
Oo I love that!
The ltk app is not working correctly. It starts to work then quits. Even after several installs. Not a good app to be dealing with in my opinion. Nice nursery.
