Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Public Access

Today is the first day that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is open to the public. Last week, was the early access for Nordstrom cardmember. Today, anyone can shop it! You can shop it online or in-store.

When I went to pick my order in the store, I can quickly tell that the inventory online is so much better. In the store, everything is picked over or not all sizes are available. I did the ‘Buy Online and Pick Up In Store’ option, and I my stuff arrived much faster than having it shipped to my home.

As I mentioned last week in my Instagram Story, out of all the stuff I loved from the Sale, I only purchased 7 items. So today’s post is all about what I bought. I’ll share my thoughts on the items, sizing information, and final verdict (kept or return). This post is similar to last year’s post and my Amazon review posts.

Hopefully this post will help you make an executive and better decision during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Public Access.

Size Reference

Before we begin, I think it is important to know my size. I don’t expect you all to have the same size with me, but hopefully this will be used as a reference and you can figure out where you fall when it comes to the fit of these pieces.

My Size

I normally wearing a size small in most things (tops and bottoms). I also wear size 4 in dresses, tops, and bottoms. For jean sizes or bottoms that use waist measurements, I wear a size 27. My shoe size is 7.5M.

My body

The measure of my bust is a 32C. I’m 5’4″ and weight 135lbs-140lbs. My weight can fluctuate.

What I Bought – Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Public Access

ITEM: Toby Flat – Sarto by Franco Sarto

SIZING: Runs slightly large. Therefore, I recommend sizing down. I went half a size down and it was perfect!

REVIEW: I am surprised that a pointed-toe flats runs large. Normally, I have to size up. However, it was perfect and I can tell through time, it will stretch. Most shoes made with leather will stretch through wear. These pair of shoes are so comfortable! This was the last item I added to my cart, and I’m glad I made that last minute decision. I love that the leather feels soft too. It won’t cut into my foot, and the shoes are not stiff at all. Therefore, you can walk with flexibility. I got them in the Navy color. The Navy almost looks black.

VERDICT: Kept It.

ITEM: Madewell Ripped High Waisted Skinny Jeans

SIZING: Fits true to size. I got a size 27. The description says they’re cropped jeans, but to me they fit regular length. Maybe if you’re taller  than 5’4″ it might be ankle length.

REVIEW: The color of the jeans are lighter than the photo. I really wanted the denim wash color that appears on the Nordstrom site. However, since I don’t have any light wash distressed jeans, so I figured it was a keeper. The jeans feel really soft and have stretch to them. They’re also super high-waisted. It goes passed my belly button. To me, that’s a good thing. In general, I love Madewell jeans and almost always get a pair during the NSale. If ripped is not your style, I also love this button fly skinny jeans.

VERDICT: Kept It.

ITEM: Brenner Bootie – Madewell

SIZING: Fits true to size.

REVIEW: If you are looking for a casual looking black ankle boots, then these is the pair for you. I’ve been looking for one for awhile. Most black booties look dressed up. They’re comfortable and have some room to wear socks. The heel is not too hight. They’re about 2 1/2 inches. They’re definitely high-quality and the appear to look as if they’re made to last for awhile.

VERDICT: Kept It.

ITEM: Double Breasted Wool Blend Coat – Kenneth Cole 

SIZING: Runs large. I sized down and got a size XS.

REVIEW: The color of this coat is a mustard yellow color which is really gorgeous. The coat has a looser and boxy fit. Hence, why you have to size down. It doesn’t have structure. The blended wool fabric is flexible and it is not as thick as I thought it would be. So I was a little disappointed with that. I was hoping I can wear it during Winter. It’s more appropriate for Fall and early Winter. The good thing is that there is room to wear a chunky knit sweater even if you sized down. Also silver lining, I was looking for a Fall coat. So I guess this my Fall coat.

VERDICT: Kept itt.

ITEM: Floral Midi Slip Skirt – Something Navy

SIZING: Fits true to size.

REVIEW: This skirt has a slip skirt style and look. But I love the floral prints on it. The dark colors make it appropriate for Fall (Fall florals am I right?!). The main color of this skirt is a deep burgundy color and it is gorgeous. I love that this skirt can be worn now during the summer (just pair it with a tank top and sandals) and during the Fall (just pair it with a long sleeve or sweater with ankle boots). It’s definitely very versatile.

VERDICT: Kept it.

Thoughts On Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Public Access

I was very surprised that I ended up keeping all the items I received from the NSale. Usually I end up returning a few items. However, I only received 5 out of the 7 items I purchased. Unfortunately, Nordstrom cancelled the checkered blazer and sweater tank. Those were the 2 things I was really looking forward to. I wish they did a better job notifying the cancelled items. This is seriously a week after I made the purchase.

Fortunately, some of these will go back in stock. So I will keep an eye out for it. I have it bookmarked and when it comes back, I’m ready to make the purchase haha. Happy Shopping everyone!
