How To Pamper Yourself At Home
I truly believe that self-care is very important. I’m aware that self-care is different for everyone. The definition of self-care is the practice or action of preserving and improving one’s own health. So the action for sure varies from person to person. Everyone decompresses differently or certain things work better for others. But one of my favorite ways to practice self-care is to pamper yourself. There are so many different ways you can pamper yourself without leaving the comforts of your own home. Because ya know, we shouldn’t anyways because of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, when this all settles, I hope this can be practice for yourself in the future.
How To Pamper Yourself At Home
Since we are all home, it is the perfect opportunity to really indulge in self-care. I’m aware that there might be some family members that are quarantined with you. Don’t let that discourage you! Maybe you all can do it as a family together! It’s a fun activity to do at home.
Dedicate A Day (Or Evening)
Pick a date on the calendar for your ultimate self-care. If you don’t want the family members to be part of it, you can let them know your self-care day so that way they know not to bother you. If you have kids, maybe work something out with your spouse. Or I have some friends that wait until their kids go to bed. They’re all under the age of 3 so their kids tend to go to bed earlier.
Enjoy The Fresh Air
If the weather permits, go outside. Remember to practice social distancing and wearing a face mask is a good idea too. I love to go on walks around the neighborhood and listen to my favorite podcasts or favorite song. In general, you want to get your body moving!
Take A Hot Bath
Nothing is more relaxing than a hot bath. If your time outdoors was a run or some type of workout, I recommend adding epsom salt to your tub. It helps relieve any muscle soreness. I love to add essential oils to my epsom salt and my favorite one is Eucalyptus essential oil. It is known to be a de-stressor and the scent is so relaxing. But you can also use a bath bomb or create a bubble bath. I love to have wine or hot tea and this bath caddy is so handy!
Treat Your Hair And Skin
Now is the time to go all out with your skincare routine and hair. I always feel like I’m constantly on the go. So doing something like a hair mask is never a possibility. But let me tell you, it is life changing. I’m a big fan of Virtue Labs hair products and their hair mask is amazing. Your hair will thank you!
But I also love to treat my skin and go all out as if I’m getting a facial. I use a face steamer to open up my pores, exfoliate my skin, use a face mask, face serum to treat my face, and seal it all with facial oil. I’m a big fan of using facial ice rollers! They’re so soothing on my face and they help with puffiness.
Put On A Cozy Loungewear
For me, it is all about wearing a luxurious robe. It helps me feel like I’m in a spa and nothing is more relaxing than going to a spa. A good loungewear is the best! Here are the cutest and coziest loungewear pieces to have!
Good Night Sleep
Sleeping is a luxury and to me that is the ultimate way to pamper yourself. Either go to bed early or sleep in. You’ll feel so refreshed after getting a good night’s rest.
Meditate
Meditating is another great way to decompress especially if you have a lot on your mind. I love to use meditation as one of the ways to cope with anxiety. I love using the Headspace app and all I need is just 3 minutes!
Work On Your Hobby
Is there something you love to do but don’t have time to do? Working on something you love to do is a great way to pamper yourself. Either grab a good book, knit, paint, etc. I recently discovered punch needling and just bought my first kit!
Indulge
Spoil yourself a little. Eat some ice cream (loveeee Jeni’s ice cream and I always mix the Brambleberry Crisp & Dark Chocolate Truffle together. YUM!). If you are local to Chicago, get takeout fondue from Geja’s Cafe. Tre & I recently ordered takeout from there and we were really impressed. Didn’t think fondue could be takeout but it’s just as good as if we were dining there.

One of my favorite ways to pamper myself, and a really good quarantine activity, is creating a spa-like experience. In a normal situation, it requires us to take trips to the spa. But since we can’t due to the coronavirus pandemic, here are things and items that can help you create an at home spa day!

Face Steamer
Hair Mask
Eye Gel Patch
Essential Oil
Diffuser
Bath Caddy
Ice Roller
Bubble Bath
Bath Bombs
Bath Salt
Body Oil
Body Scrub
Face Mask
Sheet Mask
Warm Cup of Tea / Coffee / Hot Chocolate
I also love to create a hot lemon tea. So many amazing health benefits, great for gut digestion, glowy skin, and it just makes you feel good. Take hot water, a scoop of raw honey (raw honey has antioxidants and antibacterials), and squeeze half a lemon’s juice. So soothing and delish!
A Good Book
See this section for all my book recommendations.
Scented Candles
Don’t forget that these are just a few suggestions to pamper yourself. I’m sure you know yourself a lot more and know what works for you to create the ultimate self-care. Plus, it give you something to do while we are all quarantined. No excuses why we can’t take care of ourselves. As you can tell, I love having spa days and hopefully my list of spa day essentials helps you re-create it.

Omg I hope a pampering day will help you out!
Got to love a good spa day, unfortunately me and my girls had to cancel a spa date due to the current situation we’re in, but that didn’t stop us. We had a spa day at home with eachother via facetime, such a good day it was.

Aww I love hearing this!
I agree self-care is super important, especially now. My idea of self-care is working out, reading a good book and making sure I eat well! I have also been thinking about a bath with epsom salts for a while – I must put it into my diary to make sure it happens! (Maybe after the kids go the bed, like you say – that seems like the easiest way to have a quiet time with a book and a glass of wine.) Thanks for sharing and hope you’re well, Rach.
For sure! You’re welcome Katerina!
Now is the perfect time to give your body a little TLC! I’ve been doing a lot of face masks and really enjoying myself. We’re all going to come out of quarantine with glowing skin!
