Chicago Food Scene

One of the best things about living in Chicago is that the food scene is AMAZING. So going out to eat is almost a no brainer for the best Chicago date night restaurants. No matter what neighborhood you are in, there are always amazing restaurants. So honestly, any restaurant in Chicago is perfect for date night.

During the summer, we can’t help but want to go out to eat more. We want an excuse to leave the house. I thought I’d share some of our favorite Chicago date night restaurants! If you are from out of town, hopefully this gives you some ideas!

Best Chicago Date Night Restaurants

Le Colonial

It is located in the heart of the Gold Coast neighborhood. The decor is so cute! It has a French Vietnamese feel to it. Which makes sense because the food is French inspired traditional Vietnamese. Basically the food emulates French Colonial Southeast Asia.

Chez Moi

It is located in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. It is this cute little French restaurant with an adorable outdoor seating area. I’m a big escargot fan, and theirs is sooo good! The first time I went there was a couple years ago. We celebrated Valentine’s Day and it was right before I started chemo. So it just made that place a little extra special.

Tango Sur

It is located in the Lakeview neighborhood. I love cuisine from South America and this restaurant serves Argentinian food. Omg their chimichurri sauce is soooo good. Fun fact, Tre took me here on one of our first few dates!

Ella Elli

It is located in the Lakeview neighborhood (it is really close to Tango Sur). It has a very sexy and modern decor to it. The cuisine is an elevated American food with play on flavor. And everything on the menu is delicious!

RM Champagne 

It is located in the West Loop neighborhood. This place screams date night! The minute you walk in, you will definitely see why. It is cozy, has a fireplace with a shabby chic decor. The dessert menu is so much fun. You can select several different miniature desserts! The first time I went there was the night Tre proposed to me.

Signature Room

It is located along Magnificent Mile. You can’t miss it because it is in the infamous John Hancock building – 95th floor to be exact. The view there is just incredible and the ambiance has an old Hollywood chic to it. It is kind of touristy, but it’s still a must see even if you are born & raised in Chicago (like me!). Tre also took me there the day he proposed.

Richshaw Republic

It is located in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. It is the only authentic Indonesian restaurant in Chicago. Omg the food is sooooo good. This is one of my all time favorite restaurants ever. The ambiance completely transforms you into Indonesia. Trust me, it will be your favorite too!

Avec

It is located in the West Loop neighborhood. It is a rustic Mediterranean cuisine served tapas style. I love that it is tapas style because you can pretty much try everything on the menu and everything is amazing! If you do plan on going, be aware that they don’t accept reservations and it is a small restaurant. So I would say plan accordingly.

Balena

It is located in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. They serve modern Italian food, but the decor is very rustic chic. I loved everything about this place! Unfortunately, there was an unexpected fire that happened about a year ago and so they are currently temporarily closed. As soon as they complete rebuilding, they plan on re-opening. People have also used this restaurant as a wedding venue and from the photos I’ve seen, it looked beautiful!

So there ya go, these are the best Chicago date night restaurants. Honestly, you don’t really need to go there just for date night. All these places are amazing – the food, service, and ambiance! Hope you all check them out.

Honestly, floral dresses are perfect for more than just date night. They’re great for bridal showers, baby showers, graduation parties, etc.
