Gift Guide For Pregnant Women
This is my last gift guide for the year. I’m aware that Christmas is this week, however, I think this gift guide will be helpful throughout the year. As I’m sure you know or will eventually know someone who will be pregnant. Pregnant women deserve to be spoiled! Both physically and mentally. Their bodies go through so much and there’s a lot that is happening outside of the physical changes too. I know firsthand for me, as I see my body change, I know I have to be more mindful about my cancer. The amount of doctors I have to see and how my health can affect the baby has been terrifying to think about. But thank goodness we have heard good news about my health for now.
As someone who is currently pregnant, there are some things that I find very helpful. Some of these things I purchased for myself and some of these things I was fortunate enough to receive as a gift and it has been heavenly to have!
Gift Guide For Pregnant Women
This gift guide is different from baby registries (the registry you will hear about from baby shower invites) because the focus here is on the expecting parent’s needs versus something for the baby. Sometimes this can be overlooked because of the excitement for the baby. Which rightfully so! A baby coming into this world is a big and amazing thing. I know everyone in my family was overjoyed. It was a miracle to know that we can have a baby after cancer.
Just a friendly reminder that this gift guide can be used for any gift-giving occasion, not just for the holidays. Think about other events like birthdays, Mother’s Day, baby shower, or baby announcement.
1 Lake Pajamas Prima Robe
I cannot tell you how much I love wearing a robe ever since I became pregnant. It’s so great to lounge in, they’re bump-friendly, and it feels so good against my skin. Sometimes I just wear my robe because nothing else feels as comfortable as wearing a robe. This robe specifically is EXTRA soft and comfy. Some pregnant women experience skin sensitivity (like me), and I need to wear fabric that is soothing on my skin. I also heard that a robe is perfect for nursing!
2 Bio-Oil Skincare Oil
I swear by this oil! My sister-in-law gifted this to me to use as a belly oil and it’s been incredible. It absorbs well and doesn’t get into my clothes and it works great during Winter when my skin is extra dry. I’ve been using this oil since the start of my 2nd trimester. I was told to use belly oil or belly butter early on to avoid stretch marks.
3 Body Pillow Pregnancy Pillow
As the belly gets bigger and bigger, sleeping becomes more uncomfortable. The pregnancy pillow is the best thing ever! It gives support for my back and belly. Every pregnant woman I know swears by these body pillows. This is especially great for someone who is not used to being a side sleeper.
4 Hatch Layer Set Gift Set
I RAVE about Hatch all the time on Instagram. They’re seriously my favorite maternity brand. They have the cutest maternity clothes and everything is made perfect for a pregnant woman. This layering gift set is perfect because it contains basic and essential pieces that all expectant moms would love to have. If you’re open to splurging a bit, another great Hatch gift box is the Hatch-to-Hopsital Box. It’s filled with hospital essentials for the mama!
5 Indie Lee I-Recover Mind & Body Gel
Indie Lee is one of my favorite clean beauty brands and this mind & body gel is the best thing ever (pregnant or not). All you have to do is rub the gel onto sore and achy muscles. For me, I love to use it especially on the temples of my head because I’ve been having lots of headaches as one of my pregnancy symptoms. It’s been amazing! The I-Recover bath salts is just as soothing and amazing too because both products are made with the most incredible essential oil blends.
6 Maelove The Glowmaker Serum
This has been my favorite face serum especially during pregnancy. Everyone kept telling me that I have that ‘pregnancy glow’, but honestly, I think it is this serum. My skin looks so much better! It hydrates and brightens my skin all day.
7 Solly Baby Wrap
This baby wrap will be great when the baby arrives. I have a few of them but obviously haven’t tried them out yet. However, a lot of other moms recommended this baby wrap. Not only are they cute (see all of their designs here), but they said it has helped make their lives so much easier and it is easy to store too!
8 True & Co Bra
It’s no surprise I love True & Co bras (my full review here), but I love them even more now that I’m pregnant! They’re SOOOO comfortable and the band is accommodating with my growing bump. All the other mamas out there agree with me and made the switch to True & Co bras. It’s so buttery soft, breathable, and extremely comfortable. Sometimes I forget I have a bra on. And it just proves my motto about bras – if a bra is comfortable for someone with a mastectomy then it has to be comfortable for almost anyone!
9 BLANQI Everyday Maternity Leggings
I thought I could just pull off wearing my usual leggings. Maternity leggings make all the difference and leggings with belly support is even better. I swear by BLANQI maternity leggings. The belly support is such an amazing feature and they look very flattering on too!
10 Necessaire Body Lotion
This is my go-to body lotion lately. It has clean ingredients (so pregnancy safe) and melts perfectly into your skin. Having dry skin is a pregnancy symptom and moisturizing helps alleviate the itch and irritation.
11 Necessaire Body Serum
I also swear by this body serum. I didn’t even think I needed a body serum but if your skin is EXTRA dry, this is a savior and my skin needed this in addition to lotion. Plus, it feels so luxurious! If you want to take it to the next level, this Necessaire body wash is incredible too!
12 Rey to Z Mama Hat
I know, I share Rey to Z hats in every gift guide, but they’re just too freaking cute! I mean what expecting mom doesn’t want this? It truly is one of the perfect gifts for pregnant women. The one I showcased is in the terracotta color, but it also comes in several other colors!
13 Hatch Gift Card
Yes, a Hatch gift card truly is a great gift! Any mama to be can pick out anything she would love and want from Hatch and everything from Hatch is truly a treat. All their clothes are super cute and they’re great for postpartum too. A lot of the styles are designed so that even if you are no longer pregnant, it will still look flattering on you (but the design is made to be very comfortable for pregnant women).
Other Great Gift Ideas
Here are other great gifts for expecting moms. I personally have not tried these yet, but a lot of people have recommended them to me!
- The Big Fat Activity Book For Pregnant People – it’s an activity book for moms to be with a sense of humor. It’s filled with puzzles, quizzes, games, and hysterical musings on what pregnancy is really like.
- Diaper Bag – I personally haven’t found a diaper bag I love yet, but this is for sure an essential and necessity that I know every pregnant woman would love to have!
- Anything for Morning Sickness – Give anything that will help with morning sickness. Several of you recommended the Preggie Pop Drops.
- Comfortable slippers – There are two slippers that I highly recommend: Emu Mayberry Slippers and Ugg Water Resistant Slippers.
- Pregnancy Journals – Again, this is something I currently don’t use but was highly recommended to me. A pregnancy journal is a great way to track your pregnancy. You can track all your appointments, symptoms, medications, and write down how you feel throughout the process. I did find a couple journals that I like – Pearhead Linen Pregnancy Journal and Letterfolk Pregnancy Passport.
Hope you find this gift guide for pregnant women helpful! If you are expecting, what is something you would love to be gifted?
