Our 2020 Holiday Card

It’s that time of year to start sending and receiving holiday cards. I love sending them out just as much as receiving them. There’s something about snail mail that feels extra special don’t ya think? It’s a lost form of communication that I truly believe most people still really enjoy receiving.

Whenever I receive a holiday card in the mail, I get so excited! It’s always fun to see what people share and pick out as their Christmas card. Some people send homemade holiday cards, some people send a letter summarizing their year, some cards include a special announcement, or some love to send a photo card.

Tre and I like to keep our holiday card very simple. Just a quick note sharing our gratitude and a photo or two of us. This year we definitely wanted our 2020 holiday card to reflect our biggest news ever! We wanted our card to celebrate our pregnancy announcement. I’d say it’s a nice change 😉

We got our 2020 Christmas card from Minted. Every year we always order through Minted. It’s not sponsored or gifted, we just genuinely love their product. Although, I will admit in some of the previous years it has been gifted. But we have been long-time customers before they reached out to me. So when I didn’t hear from Minted this year, I didn’t hesitate to use our own money.

The card we selected is called cameo joyful. We wanted the card to showcase the emotion we felt about this year which happens to be ‘joyful’. I know what you’re thinking, 2020 is not the greatest of years. But if I’m being honest, I truly think every year there will always be a life challenge, hurdle, or tragedy. But despite all that, I feel very blessed about this year and about my life. I’ve been through a lot and I’ll have to say, I’ve had much worse years. So I chose to see 2020 as celebrating a new life we are bringing in. Cancer made me think it wasn’t possible, but I’m glad we beat the odds.

Supports Small Businesses

A lot of the creative art work is made by local artists or small businesses. For instance, our holiday card the cameo joy is created by the artist Christina Enciso. So not only will we be getting a beautiful card, we are supporting an artist’s work!

You’ll be able to find the artist of each card on the upper right corner. And if you click on the artist’s name, you’ll be able to see other pieces that are available in Minted by them.

Large Selection

I really like the volume and variety Minted has to offer. You can even customize each card so it is tailored more to your preferences. You can pick no photo, one photo, or multiple photos. Or you even have the option to switch up the color scheme. It really is up to you!

Address Assistant

This is by far my favorite feature. The address assistant prints on the envelope the name of the recipient and their corresponding address at no extra charge. All you have to do is input the information. If you already have an excel sheet of everyone’s address, all you have to do is upload it. This saves me so much time! I’ve got an extremely large family and it’s nice that I don’t need to worry about writing down everyone’s address.

You also have the option to have your return address printed on each envelope as well. There is an extra fee for this, but I think it is worth it. Again, it saves so much time. All I had to do was stuff and seal the envelope!

Fun Envelopes

Speaking of envelopes, their envelopes go above and beyond and you can select fun holiday designs on it. I love this feature because I think it makes receiving the mail extra special. No extra cost. It only requires your extra time to select the design. They also have a pre-selected design that would go well with your holiday card.

Find It Fast™ Feature

Are you having trouble picking a card or maybe you’re not sure if a certain design works with your photo? You can upload your own photo by selecting the Find It Fast™ feature. You will spot this feature in the top left of the screen. Just click on the upload button and you are able to upload your own photo. This means that going forward, all the photo cards you will see on Minted is your card. That way you can have a better idea what works best for you!
