Makeup: Flawless in Five
Just An Everyday Makeup Routine
I am flattered that many of you have complimented me on my face through InstaStory! There are two things that have helped me, a good skincare routine and a good everyday makeup routine. I am no beauty guru and I am no way in heck good with makeup, but I do believe that when you get the right kind of makeup it makes all the difference. I think that’s what happened to me.
Invested In Me
I didn’t start receiving compliments on how ‘glowy’ my face looked until I decided to invest a little bit more on my everyday makeup routine. Just as a disclaimer, I was previously hesitant to spend money on makeup and bought whatever was “cheap”. I also was hesitant to try any new makeup because my skin is so sensitive. I break out so easily. I get so nervous when a makeup artist has to do my makeup. They usually use Mac and their products make my skin freak out.
Making the Switch
Anyways, ever since I made the switch to using clean & safe beauty products, my skin has been reacting very well. I think the toxins in other products are what caused my skin to freak out. Like it was telling me, “your face should not be having this stuff.” Because of the positive results I’ve been seeing with safe skincare, I decided why not upgrade my everyday makeup routine.
Toxic-free products eliminate any ingredients that may cause adverse health effects. Therefore, they don’t have Parabens, Phthalates, Mineral Oils, PEG compounds, etc.
My Everyday Makeup Routine for the Summer
I’ve been using the Flawless in Five set as my everyday makeup routine for awhile now. During the colder months, I tweak it a bit and switch out the powder blush to a more creamy blush just because my skin is extra dry during Winter. But now that the temperatures are finally warm (I’m still in awe that we had 80 degrees this past week!), my skin feels a bit more hydrated and I use the entire set of the Flawless in Five.
I swear by the Flawless in Five because you get everything you need in this set. You get 6 items: Tint Hydration Foundation, Touchup Concealer Pen, Color Define Brow Pencil, Powder Blush Duo, Mascara, and Lip Gloss. All of this is only $150! To me, that is a steal. Yes, I agree $150 is a lot at once but when you break it down by the cost of each item, that is a deal. Think about it, when you go in Sephora, it is almost too easy to spend close to $300 and you may not get everything you wanted.
You do have the option to buy each item at Beautycounter individually if you don’t have a need for all of the items in the set.
What’s in the Flawless in Five?
I am using the color ‘honey’. I love this foundation! If you don’t want to get everything in this set but want to get an item, then this is the one I highly recommend. So moisturizing and feels lightweight. It is considered light coverage, but it gets the job done. The first day I wore this foundation, my mom couldn’t stop complimenting how great it looked.
I am using the color ‘Medium 1’. I mainly use it as an undereye concealer and I went a shade lighter to have that brighter effect. You can also use this concealer to coverup any blemishes. The pen is so easy to use and you only pump out what you need.
I am using the color ‘Tawny/Whisper’, and I honestly think it is the prettiest color. It just gives my cheeks some life and this blush lasts for a very long time! You won’t need to buy another one for a while. I’m also a fan of a creamier blush when my skin is feeling more dry and I use this one by Well People (it is also toxic-free). I am also obsessed with the Well People blush. It has an extra glow and gives a highlight effect!
I am using the lengthening mascara. You do have the option to select the volumizing mascara as well. It for sure gives a good lengthening effect. Since my eyelashes are stick-straight and droop, I use this eyelash curler. It doesn’t pinch and keeps them curled!
I am using the color ‘dark’. I love that my eyebrows still look natural after using this pencil. It also comes with an eyebrow brush which is so helpful when I want to tame and shape them. Plus, it is one less item I need to add in my makeup bag. Pretty much this is a 2 for 1.
I’ll be honest, I’m not too much of a lip gloss person. But if I were to use one, I love the ‘Bare Shimmer’ color the best. I am more into the Lip Sheers and my go to is the ‘Twig’ color. Just the perfect neutral color! Both the lip gloss and lip sheers are hydrating as well!
If I’m feeling extra and want to add more to my everyday makeup routine, I use a bronzer and black eyeliner. This is more of a nighttime look versus daytime. I always try to keep my daytime makeup simple. The best part of using the Flawless in Five is that it doesn’t take me more than 5 minutes. Which I love! This is the same makeup I use in all my blog photos!
Also, if you do end up buying the Flawless in Five, or spend at least $50 at Beautycounter, by becoming a Band of Beauty Member you will get 15% in product credit to go towards your next purchase. Which is like getting 15% off. For instance, if you spent $100, you will have $15 in Beautycounter credits to use next time. AND you get the Sugar Body Scrub in Lemongrass for free! If you spend at least a $100, you also get free shipping. Being a member only costs $29 a year.
Hope you all enjoyed learning more about my everyday makeup routine specifically for the summer! Have a wonderful weekend!
