My Honest Necessaire Review
I’ve been talking about Necessaire for a while now. You probably have noticed me featured their body products several times especially throughout my pregnancy. I’ve also shared their products when it comes to prepping your skin for the cold weather. Necessaire has seriously become one of my favorite skincare brand. It’s the only thing I use on my body. I’m picky too because I have extremely dry skin and sensitive skin.
If you don’t know Necessaire, it is a body care brand founded by Nick Axelrod and Randi Christiansen (known for working for Estee Lauder). They offer body care products that appeal to everyone of every gender. So basically Tre and I can use the same products which is awesome.
What really drew me into this body brand is that they primarily focus on nourishing your body with clean and effective ingredients. They’re all about wellness and want to make sure they formulate products that are really good for you. They use the Environmental Working Group (EWG) rating.
This may sound vain but I was interested in trying them because I really love their minimal design. It looks great on your bathroom countertop which means I don’t have to think about where to store them. That clean style makes my countertop look less clutter. Even their packaging is incredible because they use eco-friendly packaging. They are aware that by creating a product they leave a footprint. So they approach it by being sustainable when creating their products and packaging because they believe that is the responsible approach. They are transparent with their manufacturing and they mention it here.
Necessaire Review
I originally discovered Nécessaire through other influencers. I’ve seen so many talks about it to the point that it made me question if it is really worth the hype. So naturally, I had to try it out myself. Similar to my I had the same thought & mindset about the Hill House Nap Dress. If I see it everywhere, I’m going to try and give my own judgment. I’ve tried a majority of their products and I’ll list them below.
They have a fragrance-free option for all their products! This to me is amazing because sometimes I like beauty and skin care brands overdo it when it comes to scents. Some scents give me a headache or I just don’t like it.
The Body Lotion
This body cream is fast-absorbing while keeping my skin well moisturized throughout the add. The fast-absorbing is incredible because I don’t feel greasy or sticky when it is on. This lotion is filled with multivitamins and it is rich with Niacinamide (Vitamin B3 – known to strengthen skin) , Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Omega-6, and Omega-9.
It’s very similar to the Beautycounter’s Hydration Body Lotion. I will admit that when I first used it, I thought it was okay and actually liked Beautycounter much better. They’re both $25. What changed my mind was throughout my pregnancy. My skin was even more dry and sensitive, and I was able to see how effective Necessaire The Body Lotion was. Now, I can’t image any other lotion that can compare.
The Body Serum
If there is one product I can only recommend, it would be this body serum! I’m an avid face serum user and they do wonders to my face. Well this serum can do wonders to your body. It’s filled with hyaluronic acid for multi-level hydration. Well know Hyaluronic Acid is key to having an amazing skin (on your face and body). It also have other multi-vitamins such as Vitamin B5 – which is great for skin elasticity aka perfect for pregnancy and postpartum.
It is on the pricey side. It’s $45. I know, yikes! But if you have used face serum, you know the price is comparable. After using The Body Serum, my skin is feeling incredible!
Using this serum is for extra dry skin, skin depletion, and skin recovery.
There are 3 ways to use this product:
- Use alone as a lightweight body moisturizer (great for summer)
- Layer it on after you use The Body Lotion
- Or combine the lotion and serum together. This is how I usually apply it. Saves time and I get the extra moisture my skin needs especially during the cold months.
The Body Wash
I’m usually eh when it comes to body washes. Now, I only want to use Necessaire’s body wash. While I usually select the fragrance-free option, I really like the Eucalyptus one. Something about eucalyptus feels revitalizing and has that spa-like feeling. It makes taking a shower a bit more enjoyable. What’s really great is that tt doesn’t dry out my skin and locks in the moistures. Similar to The Body Lotion, it is filled with multivitamins (Niacinamide/Vitamins B3, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Omega-6, Omega-9) and also cost $25.
The Body Exfoliator
After using this body exfoliator, it left my skin feeling baby soft! Probably one of the best body scrubs I’ve ever used. If you exfoliate your face, then you know there’s so many benefits to exfoliating. It removes dead skin which means other body products can easily absorb into the skin (like the body serum).
The exfoliator contains Glycolic Acid,Lactic Acid, Salicylic Acid,Bamboo Charcoal, and Volcanic Pumice which means it has the ability to get rid of body acne. YES! You only need to use this product 1-2x a week and you will immediately see results. So a little goes a long way and for $30, this will last you for awhile!
The Hand Cream
Especially since the pandemic, my hands are so dry and crackly from washing them often. And I have eczema on my hands. I used to rarely use hand creams because I hate how they never absorb into my skin very well and leaves my hand feeling greasy. Since I love all the Necessaire products I’ve tried, I decided to try out their hand cream. It contains Peptide, Niacinamide, Vitamin C, Vitamin E , Omega-6, and Omega-9.
Hands down best hand cream ever! It’s so effective, absorbs quickly, nourishes, and protects the skin on contact. Their product description specifically says it’s great for eczema and I’m really glad it worked with my eczema. You only need a little bit of the product. For $20, this is another one of their products that will last you for a while! The packaging is also recyclable.
The Body Oil
The Body Oil is one of their newest body care products. It launched last year. I’ve always been a big fan of Beautycounter’s Body Oil, but I cringe at the price every time. It’s not sustainable with the volume of product you get. Necessaire’s Body Oil is half the cost of that.
It’s a good body oil and you only need a few drops. It’s filled with multi-vitamins such as Vitamin B7, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Omega-6, Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium, Zinc and it works amazing with The Body Lotion. However, I’m not crazy about it. I don’t have that love or ‘have to always use it’ kind of feeling like I do with the lotion and serum.
Cost-Saving Deals
While, I love all of the Necessaire’s products that I’ve tried so far, it is pricey. So I try to take advantage of their bundles and thought I’d share them with you all.
The Body Treatment Set
If you want to try The Body Lotion and The Body Serum, then you should purchase The Body Treatment Set for $55. It includes a full size body lotion and body serum. If you purchase each item separately, you will be spending $70. So you are basically getting a ~25% off discount by buying the set.
The Body Ritual Set
If you want to try The Body Lotion, The Body Serum, The Body Wash, and The Body Exfoliator, I highly recommend getting the The Body Ritual Set for $80. It includes all of the products I just mentioned. This is basically a ~40% off discount and you save $45.
If you can’t tell, I’m really impressed with Necessaire’s product. They’re so effective, use clean ingredients, and try to be environmental-friendly.
Overall Thoughts
I love how innovative and effective their products are. It makes so much sense to create body products that have been also effective for your face. After all, the skin is our largest body organ. So why do we only focus on the face?! I’m a big fan of The Body Serum and The Body Exfoliator.
My final thoughts…. worth the hype. It’s not the cheapest body products to buy, but I’ve also seen other body product brands that are much more expensive (like Augustinus Bader). Just make sure you buy them in sets so that it is more of a savings then buying each product individually.
You can also purchase all of Necessaire products at Nordstrom and Sephora. However, the sets are only on the Necessaire’s website.
New Products
Necessaire recently expanded their products to haircare. They now offer shampoo and conditioner. Both are fragrance-free. I haven’t tried it yet, but if I do I’ll definitely share.
They also have The Body Bar which is a physical exfoliation made with Black Sand. This one intrigues me and might try it out soon and see what’s the difference between the The Body Exfoliator.
Have you tried them out?

I have heard great things about these products. I would love to try them especially the body lotion as my skin is terribly dry and sensitive. A lot of the lotions I have tried in the past is okay and I haven’t found one that I really love. The one you mentioned here sounds like a winner though.
