I think it is pretty obvious at this point that I love to wear velvet during the holidays. It’s so luxurious, glamorous, festive, and whimsical. As I mentioned before, I really love the velvet blazer. But another velvet piece of clothing I like to wear is the velvet skirt. More recently, there are more and more brands coming out with velvet skirts. YAY!!!
Nowadays, there are so many different velvet skirt styles. There are the slip skirts, pleated skirts, mini skirts, printed velvet skirts, etc. So I thought I’d share a few of my velvet skirt outfits!
Velvet Skirt Outfits For The Holidays
Green Velvet Skirt
This green velvet skirt is a mixture of a pleated and tiered style skirt. It has a more subtle velvet look to it. This skirt is perfect if you want a more classic holiday outfit. Of course you can easily switch it up by wearing sequins or a festive sweater.
Overall the skirt fits true to size. I am able to wear my pre-pregnancy size and it still accommodates the growing bump. So I just have to wear it over the bump instead of my waist. I wanted to keep this look more classic. Hence, why I paired it with a cream colored puff-sleeve sweater.
Metallic Velvet Skirt
This outfit is a fun and more trendy way to style a holiday outfit since it doesn’t have your typical holiday colors. But it does have all the elements that make it festive – metallic, velvet, and sequins. You can definitely wear this as a more New Years Eve outfit instead of a Christmas outfit.
The skirt runs a little large. I recommend sizing down. I’m usually a size small and had to go with size XS. If the goldish color is already making a statement, you can tone it down by wearing a solid color top. I personally think my puff-sleeve sweater would look great with this skirt.
Layer With Blazer
Nothing wrong with adding a pop of color by wearing a blazer. I paired it with a plaid blazer. If you want more of this style, I shared several other incredible tartan plaid blazers.
Purple Velvet Skirt
Wow this is from the archives! I believe this outfit was taken after chemo and my hair was starting to grow back. You don’t have to wear classic holiday colors to have a festive outfit. This purple skirt will look great with whatever you pair it with. Again, it has to do with the fact that it is velvet. It is the fabric to wear during the holidays.
Here are other velvet skirts that I think will be great to wear during the holiday season for your holiday outfit or Christmas outfits.
