You guys, I think I found the PERFECT Gucci Belt Dupe. Just to give a little back story, I’ve been obsessing over Gucci’s Double G Belt and the Interlock G belt. But $450 for a belt is very steep. I even checked at TheRealReal and eBay, and I still couldn’t justify the price. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think anything is wrong with splurging on luxury items here and there, but for a belt it’s kinda tough because belts just don’t last long. With time, they will get worn down and eventually they are no longer usable.
Let’s Be Real
To be honest, I didn’t want the belt because it was Gucci. I couldn’t care less about the G’s. I am actually not a fan of buying luxury items that have their name or monogram all over it. I don’t find them appealing at all. If I buy a luxury item, it is because there’s something about that piece that I find worthwhile.
Ok, I’m getting a little side tracked, but the reason why I was into the Gucci belt is because I love the way the buckle was styled. It’s simple yet unique. I love that the buckle makes almost like an overlapped elliptical or I guess technically that’s a venn diagram. It adds just enough statement to your outfit without overdoing it.
Found My Gucci Belt Dupe
One day I was going through Asos (I’m actually on Asos almost everyday #guilty), and decided to browse through the belts and BOOM I found this belt. It was love at first sight and I immediately added it to my checkout bag. It’s exactly what I was looking for! Didn’t even realize it was similar to the Gucci belt until it arrived and I tried it on. I actually like this better because there’s no brand monogram. Whoop whoop! And I only spent $19.
For sizing, I am wearing a size small, but I do wish I got the XS. I worn it on the smallest adjustment, and it was kinda loose in my upper waist. Not significantly loose, but after some time, it didn’t hold up. Still do-able though and most likely I will be wearing it with jeans versus dresses anyways.
Onto The Dress
I received a lot of compliments on this dress when I posted it on Instagram. Thank you! I’m all about polka dots! I recommend sizing up. Nasty Gal’s sizes tend to run small. Let’s just say it for sure doesn’t pass the pizza test (I shared what the pizza test is in this post). I struggled to zip this dress up. It really gets tight at the waist, yet the upper chest area was fine.
Oh, I also recommend getting a slip skirt. Because of the front slip of this skirt, you definitely run the risk of pulling a Britney (that infamous photo of Britney Spears getting out of the car and her who-ha was exposed). In these photos, you may have noticed my slip skirt. Btw, I love it. So comfortable and I barely notice it is there! I wore a size XS.
So there ya go. That’s how I stumbled upon the best belt and it basically was a Gucci belt dupe!
