Darling Holiday Dress For The Girly Girl
If there is anyone who can find the most darling holiday dress, it would be Julia Engel. Her style is so feminine and classic that I was so happy to see her personal style shine through in the Gal Meets Glam holiday collection. This Zelda dress is made for the girly girl.
It has the prettiest pink color. This shade of pink would be flattering on any skin tone. Then it has an overlay of tulle with polka dots. I mean, how cute is that?! It has an empire waist, so it hugs in all the right places with the draped sleeves. I love the sleeves! Because of the draped style, it has the illusion of a puffed sleeve without the bulkiness. No bulkiness is key because it makes it so much easier to wear underneath a coat! Seriously, have you tried wearing a top with puffed sleeves and then wear a coat over it?! Most uncomfortable and hardest thing to do!
Oh and can we talk about how twirlable this dress is?! I don’t even care if it is not a real word, but that’s exactly how I can explain the movement of this dress. Every movement creates a pretty twirl. So in these photos, I barely had to make an effort to make the ‘twirl shot’.
Tre says I look like a sugarplum fairy, especially when I tried it on with a top knot bun. I’ll take that as a compliment. I love sugarplum fairies! As for sizing, it fits true to size. So get your usual dress size. I’m wearing a size 4 and no alterations had to be made.
I love dresses that can be worn multiple times, and you want to know what holiday sneaks up on you? Valentine’s Day! I always forget about it until about a week before and realize I don’t know what to wear. If you get this dress, save it and it will be perfect for Valentine’s Day! One less thing to worry about.
Not Just For The Girly Girl
Even if you are not a girly girl, I think you will love this dress. Something about how it fits and how it moves will bring out your confidence. At least it did for me! I just felt so good about myself the minute I put this dress on.
I know, I keep gushing over the GMG holiday collection, but I can’t help it. You all know I only share what I am obsessed with on this blog. Hence, the name RD’s Obsessions. If you missed it, last week I shared a holiday jumpsuit from the GMG collection. Another gorgeous, classic and chic piece!
