Green Floral Dress Outfit Ideas
Wow I meant to publish this post awhile ago. As I mentioned on Instagram, I’ve been having issues with my computer that I eventually bought a new one. I was only able to do the bare minimum. Of course, a new computer took a lot longer to arrive. But now it’s here and I can finally start creating new content. I’m so sorry it’s been so dull in this space but hopefully going forward I can be more active!
At first, I didn’t think I’d been into the color green. But recently, I looked at all the dresses I own, and surprisingly I’ve been picking out a lot of green floral dresses. And to my surprise, whenever I share a green floral dress or a green floral print outfit, I receive a lot of compliments. I’ve been told green is my color. Although, I still think pink is, I have learned to appreciate the color green on me.
Especially since the weather is warm, there are sooooo many cute green floral dresses. They all range from being a maxi dress to a midi dress to a jumpsuit. Some my have have long sleeves, short sleeves, or no sleeves at all! So today I thought I’d share some of my favorite green floral dress outfits. Some are outfits I posted in the past, some were only on Instagram / Liketoknow. It (learn more about this here), or I haven’t shared them yet!
Two Green Floral Dress Outfit Ideas
Just a heads up, some of these dresses may no longer be available. In those cases, I will share similar dresses and where to get a similar option.
Square Neckline Dress
Green Square Neckline Dress, also found here | Suede D’Orsay Flats
This one of my absolutely favorite dresses. The square neckline is a flattering neckline, I love the long sleeves with a subtle puffiness in the shoulder. Everything about it looks amazing. I really should dedicate a post for this dress because I am obsessed and have worn it several times. This dress is available at & Other Stories (the brand it is from) and you can find it at Asos too.
Sleeveless Floral Maxi Dress
Green Floral Maxi Dress (only $20)| Leather Sandals | Turban Twist-Knot Headband | Straw Belt (comes in pack of 4 for $20) |
As you can see, I styled this maxi dress two different ways. Just like the ruffled floral dress (see above), it looks great with or without the belt. It all depends on preference. If you want a very loose fitting, go with the no belt. If you want to still have that flowy style but want a bit of structure then the belt is the best option. The dress itself is very lightweight and perfect for Summer, especially for those hot days. It was fun accessorizing this dress. This dress is still available and comes in several other colors.
Puff-Sleeve Dress
Green Puff-Sleeve Dress | Tall Suede Boots |
This dress was from Topshop last Fall. I first featured this dress when I was sharing how to wear Spring clothes when it feels like Winter out. What I love about a puff-sleeve dress is that you can easily wear it for almost every season. In this outfit, I wore it with a suede brown boots to be Fall and/or Winter appropriate. But for warmer days, you can easily switch out the shoes with sandals, pointed toe flats, or heeled sandals.
Ruffled Floral Maxi Dress
Green Ruffled Floral Maxi Dress | Leather Strappy Sandals | Straw Belt (comes in pack of 4 for $20) | Gold Monogram Necklace | Straw Bucket Bag |
This is one of my favorite Cynthia Rowley dress. Again, this is another dress from last Spring. But if you really love it, you can rent it from Nuuly. Nuuly is one of my favorite rental service company. They feature brands like Cynthia Rowley, Anthropologie, Free People, etc. You can rent 6 pieces for a month for $88. And if you love any of the pieces, you can purchase them for a discounted rate. I’ve bought quite bit while renting and the discounts are about 45% off than what they were or are at retail stores. This dress also looks great with or without a belt!
Floral Mini Dress
Green Floral Mini Dress | Block Heeled Pumps |
Wow, the last time I featured this mini dress was for my 30th birthday. That feels ages ago haha. I typically don’t go for a mini dress but I just loved the style of this one so much that I made an acceptation. Plus, this one didn’t feel to mini on me. I wasn’t self conscious about my butt being exposed haha. So yea if you are looking for a birthday party dress or a date night dress, this style is perfect! I also think this dress is perfect if you pair it with a classic white sneaker.
How To Style A Green Floral Dress
So here are quick and simple tips on how to style your green floral dress.
Wear A Belt
You can’t go wrong with wearing a belt. Especially if the dress has elements of flowy or oversized fit to it. A belt can switch up the style and look of it and can be more tailored to your body type. The only time a belt won’t work is if your dress is a fitted dress.
Wear A Headband
Headbands are the easiest way to accessorize your outfit. It can help tie your outfit together or add an extra element to your outfit without over doing it. My favorite type of headbands to wear is the twist-knot styles. They’re so fun to wear. It’s the perfect combination of statement and subtle.
Switch Up Your Shoes
I mentioned this earlier by change the type of shoes you wear can transform your dress to be more appropriate to the season or change the vibe from casual to dressy. Want a summery dress, wear a pair of sandals. Maybe you want to dress it up? Then wear heels. Or maybe it is getting colder out, pairing it with boots makes it easier to wear it during Fall or Winter. How about keeping it casual by pairing it with white sneakers.
How to Choose A Print That Flatters
Sometimes wearing floral print can be tricky. I always love wearing a floral dress but I also have to make sure I feel comfortable wearing it publicly and it suits my body type.
- Make sure you are comfortable wearing the print. Confidence makes a difference
- Don’t use a dress with way too many colors. The dress will be too busy and it will take away from the style.
- Use colors that are appropriate with season. I love deeper and dark tone greens during the cold months. I love a more kelly green, soft green color like sage during warmer months.
- Choose medium to small floral prints. Large floral prints can be overwhelming on the body.
Hope you enjoy this post! Are you into wearing green floral dresses too?
