Dressing for the Holidays
Can you believe we are only a few days away from Christmas?! Thankfully things are starting to slow down and I just have a few last-minute gifts to buy. I’ve done a few of my shopping done at my favorite local stores. I do love dressing for the holidays and this year I want to incorporate the metallic trend. The metallic trend has been going strong so why not end the year with the most popular trend? I decided to use a gold metallic skirt to create a holiday outfit. The gold metallic immediately glams up my outfit.
Styling a Gold Metallic Skirt
I knew that wearing a gold metallic skirt made such a statement so I wanted to tone down everything else. I figured I might as well be comfy so I paired it with my chunky red sweater. It is the same sweater I wore in San Francisco. I think the touch of red helped create a festive feel against the gold.
I also knew I just had to wear my favorite heels whenever I wear a holiday outfit. The plaid print on the kitty heels gives the outfit that special holiday touch. I feel like a holiday outfit can’t be complete without plaid! So I always try to incorporate these heels whenever I put together a holiday look.
I’ll admit this skirt makes me want to get the other colors. I’m highly considering getting thewine red or emerald green (the green skirt would look awesome with my velvet blazer!). Not sure if I have enough occasions to wear them, but I am now obsessed!
Sizing Of My Skirt
If you are curious about the sizing, it is one of those skirts that is ‘one size fits all’. I’ll admit that initially I was hesitant to make the purchase. The ‘one size fits all’ usually don’t work out well. I find it impossible that every size and body type can fit into one size. However, I was pleased that it did fit well, and I do think it can fit multiple sizes. However, I will be honest, I don’t think it can accommodate ALL sizes. At most, maybe someone who is a size large.
For reference, for bottoms, I usually wear size small, size 2-4, or size 27. The waist has some decent stretch and can probably accommodate up to size 10. So I hope you find this helpful since I know ‘one size fits all’ can be iffy. I’ve purchased some in the past and no way did they ever fit.
