Popularity of the Rainbow Stripe Trend

I’ve noticed that the rainbow stripe trend has been hitting it big lately the past few months. Either that or I’m just oblivious that it has been a trend for awhile now. At first, I thought it might be similar to the tie-dye trend. And I will admit, I wasn’t a big fan of it. Please don’t hate me. I know some people love it and if you do, you do you boo. I truly believe if you love it and feel confident in what you are wearing, then you’ll look amazing in it. It just doesn’t seem me. I tried it and I think I look like a summer camp counselor haha.

Anyways, with this trend, I love it! It’s so fun, vibrant, and I really like what the rainbow symbolizes. However, I haven’t found a rainbow stripe piece that felt me. Love it on others. SO I thought it is one of those trends that I love but I won’t wear.

Found My Rainbow Stripe Trend

Well I was wrong. Remember when I shared about 9 effortless summer dresses? There was one dress that stood out that I really loved. It truly is a showstopper. When I was in Copenhagen, I knew I had to stop in the & Other Stories store and try that one. I was lucky to find this dress in real life. Loved it and bought it!

That’s when it hit me that I can wear the rainbow stripe trend. I just had to find the one that had more of my aesthetic. And this & Other Stories dress is so me! It has the perfect combination of feminine and rainbow stripes without being over the top.

About This Dress

This dress for sure is a summer dress. The material is light and thin. It can be see-throughish but nothing a nude underwear can’t fix. This is my favorite nude underwear. It’s very comfortable and seamless! If you feel a little self-conscious (which I can be sometimes), I wear this nude slip skirt.

The dress has an elastic waist belt so you can easily cinch it together. But if you want a beachy look to it, you don’t have to tie it together. This dress definitely would make a perfect swimsuit coverup!

Sizing

I got my true size which is a size 4 (equivalent to a size small). Usually with European sizing I have to size up. In this case, I recommend getting your true size or sizing down. The dress is definitely roomy. I don’t mind that my dress has some room.

    The rainbow trend is definitely something I’ve gotten behind over the past few years. In fact, I don’t even know if it’ll be a trend – but instead become more of a classic!
