EasyCare Paint from True Value
This post is sponsored by EasyCare Paint. All my thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting the brands I support.
Why EasyCare Paint from True Value is Asthma & Allergy Friendly
Earlier this month, I had the opportunity to attend the True Value Fall Reunion where I learned more about EasyCare Paint. The True Value Fall Reunion is an event that occurs twice a year where True Value members and store owners showcase their products that you can find at a True Value store (find a store here). This event was the perfect opportunity for me to learn more about their EasyCare Paint.
Why I Looked Into EasyCare Paint
The reason why I was interested in EasyCare Paint is because Tre and I are in the early stages of planning to re-paint our home. It is something we have been thinking about for a long time. Ever since our home was built 10 years ago, we haven’t done much to change it. It was time for a refresh and we knew painting the walls would make a significant change. Especially since our current walls have a beige color.
Since this will be a big painting project, we wanted to make sure that not only do we pick the right colors (who knew picking out white paint would be a challenge haha) but that we are using the best quality paint. There are certain criteria we look for when it comes to paint.
Qualities we were looking for
- Durability. We want the paint to last and be low maintenance.
- Easier to select colors. As I mentioned earlier, the color white is really hard and we don’t want to make the wrong decision. So we want a way to visualize the paint color in our space.
- Professional. We want the paint to have an amazing finish. Regardless if we paint it ourselves or hire a painter, we want it to look good. From my previous experience, I have had paint where it didn’t matter how many coats, it still didn’t look good
Why EasyCare Paint
After doing some research, I learned that EasyCare Ultra Premium Paints has all the main qualities I’m looking for and more for our painting projects. By more, I mean I had other qualities in mind but felt like it was a stretch.
As you all know I frequently see doctors due to my cancer diagnosis and I recently discovered some new health issues. One of the issues had to do with allergies. My immune system is not like how it was before cancer and my allergies have been pretty serious that they are considering immunology as part of my treatment plan. I now have a new best friend to carry around with me – the EpiPen! One allergen of mine is unavoidable and that is dust. So one quality I was looking for that I thought was a stretch was finding a paint brand that is asthma and allergy friendly. I honestly didn’t think it existed
EasyCare Paint Qualities
Asthma and Allergy Friendly
Like I said, I didn’t think finding an allergy friendly paint was realistic. That’s until I found out that EasyCare Paint is certified by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA). EasyCare Interior Paint minimizes irritants and pollutants in the air creating a healthier indoor environment. EasyCare Paint is paint-and-primer in one and is made with less volatile compounds (low-VOC) and is low odor. This means that it is safe to be in the newly painted room.
Easy to Select Colors
This is a fun feature! They have an app called the EasyCare Color Design app that helps you visualize how a paint color would look in your space. You snap a photo of the room you want to paint and upload it into the app. Then you can select the paint color. From there, you can have an idea of how that particular paint color looks in your space. How cool is that! Plus, EasyCare Paint has a large variety of paint colors – over 1,200 shades to choose from. There’s seriously a color made for anyone’s style! EasyCare Paint also has the ability to color match any paint. This will make a seamless transition/update!
Also, they have a paint calculator so you can figure out how much paint to buy. How awesome is that? I really love the paint calculator feature because I always struggle with how many cans to buy!
Durable
Their paint is made to last for a very long time. It has a stain resistant formula making it easy to clean. As mentioned earlier, these paints have low odor, 100% acrylic, and low VOC. VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) are chemicals that are released in the air when paint dries which creates that “paint smell”. To change that EasyCare Paint utilized a low VOC formula that is easier on the environment. Hence, why you can be in your newly painted room as the paint dries. This type of paint makes it easier to work with especially if you live in a small space. It’s also great if you want to refinish your outdoor furniture too!
Professional Finish
There are several finishes to select from: flat, satin, eggshell, semi-gloss, and gloss sheens. No matter what finish you decide, the final look on your walls will look professional and well-made. That’s so important because the last thing I want to do is redo the painting.
If you have any additional questions about EasyCare paint (like we did), we went to one of the many participating stores. The True Value store owners were able to help us out. One of them even gave us feedback about lighting when it came to selecting paint colors. They gave us small stickers of our top paint color choices so we can stick it around our home and see if we like it!
So what do you think of True Value’s EasyCare Paint? Have you used it before? If you have, please do share your thoughts in the comments. It’s so funny how being an adult and finding an allergy-friendly paint is so exciting! Never would I have thought this!

This is so awesome!! I need to remember this brand for when I eventually buy a house!
Yes! They’re so incredible!
I wish I shared your enthusiasm about True Value paint. I know a bit about paint, and unlike EasyCare, which does indeed have VOCs, there are brands with ZERO VOC. Dunn – Edwards is such a brand. Regarding EasyCare, I painted my entire new home with it. When I needed some interior touch-up, they had changed their sheen levels, and no sheen was the same, of course leaving a blotchy touch-up job that finally required repainting several wall entirely.
As for their exterior, WeatherAll, I can tell you that the lifetime warranty is worth nothing. I have a large house and used well over fifty gallons for Weatherall. The paint, while mechanically sound (no peeling, flaking, ect.) the color has faded and is sad. I expect that no paint will last a lifetime, but in ten years, the exterior of my home is faded, chalky, and generally embarrassing and I will be repainting it.
I brought this to the attention of True Value and was clear on the character of the problem, asking only for replacement product (they are under no obligation to pay for labor to re-paint) but not was my concern roundly dismissed; worse they just do not care to even talk about it.
With all transparency, I once sold both EasyCare and WeatherAll. I believed in the product. I was a cheerleader for it. I sincerely hope that customers that experience problems will received better after the sale support that I.
I offer that the ease of choosing a color is enhanced by their program as well as the sample program. Beyond that, understand that if you plan to keep your color for a long time – many people don’t – then I’d offer that one examine other brands.
And for the allergies and such, there are better products, from a VOC emissions standpoint.
I hope my comments do not sound like sour grapes. However the complete and total lack of concern for the deterioration of the exterior paint, as in zero contact, is alarming.
Hi!I really appreciate your honest feedback on this type of paint. I am wear there it still has VOC.I had no idea that there are paints that have zero VOC. So that is good to know. I’m still in the early stages of planning. I will check out the other paint you recommended!

I know! The allergy and asthma component is what I think makes this paint the best. They are prevalent in the states. Definitely check out the store locator on their site!
I’m also very sensitive to home allergens so these paints sound amazing! I love that you can use their app to visualize how the paint will look in your home — I’m such a visual person so this is uniquely helpful!!
Right?! Definitely love that they’re really thinking about their consumers!
I’m repainting my kids rooms and definitely going to give them a try.
Let me know how it goes!
Oh this would be great for my office. It has no door so it’ll feed through the entire house. I think I have a True Value near me that I can grab this.
