It Is Like An Oxymoron
I was thinking the other day about some of the clothing pieces and outfit combinations I like to wear and I realized a lot of them are kind of like an oxymoron. Where one clothing piece is great for hot weather and another piece is great for cold weather. Because these clothing pieces are odd, it is rare you will catch me wearing them unless it is on the blog. Let’s be honest, I can wear anything on the blog – i.e. when would I wear a dress in the middle of Winter (eeekkk!)?!
The Best Time To Wear
However, there is a perfect time to wear such odd outfit combinations and that is early Fall! The weather can be warm and cool which makes hybrid outfits made for hot and cold weather so perfect. So what are these odd combinations I am talking about? Below are my favorite odd outfit combinations to wear in the Fall. Unless you live in a place where these outfit combos are possible all the time. LUCKY!! Chicago doesn’t work this way most of the time haha.
4 Favorite Odd Outfit Combinations That Work
1. Shorts (or skirts) and sweater (or long sleeves) outfit
I love wearing denim shorts & a sweater together or a skirt & sweater together. I just find this outfit combination to be flattering. But you know what, who wants to wear a sweater in the summer and if you do wear shorts or a skirt during cold temps, your poor legs will freeze.
2. Wearing Peep-Toe Booties.
I love love love peep-toe booties. They are just so stinkin’ adorable. But when it is time for boots weather in Chicago, it usually means your poor little toes will fall off because of hyperthermia. So early Fall is one of the rare times of the year I can actually wear them. Otherwise, it really is pointless to wear. Below are my favorite peep-toe booties.
3. Dress and Boots Outfit
4. Sleeveless Sweaters
This is my all time favorite. I love sleeveless sweaters. Something about the fit and style just looks so chic. It has the effortless yet chic feel to it. But wearing anything knitted in the summer, forget about it unless you want to be covered in a pool of sweat. But a sleeveless sweater in late Fall or Winter and your arms will freeze!
Do you guys have a favorite odd outfit combination?
