When I saw this metallic jumpsuit on Anthropologie’s website, I already knew that the only time I would wear this (or capitalize wearing it) is during the holidays. Metallic or anything that has that electric color or texture screams holidays, especially for a New Years Eve outfit. Don’t you think? But it can be worn during any holiday function. In general, I realized that this is the year I can’t get enough of jumpsuits for the holidays. As I mentioned in my top special occasion jumpsuits post, this one was one of them! And there will be more of them that I will feature in another blog post!
Different Ways to Wear the Jumpsuit
In fact, I’ve worn this metallic jumpsuit a few times already in holiday gatherings. I definitely got a lot of good use out of it! Originally, when I was putting together this outfit post, I wanted to share how it would look without a black turtleneck. But Chicago’s wind chill was brutally cold. No way I’m exposing any bare arms! But it is super cute without any layering. I also wore this exact outfit a couple weeks ago but replaced the red heels with black sock booties. Again, it was a chilly Chicago winter night (shocker… haha) and I wore black tights underneath. No cold air for me!
Metallic Jumpsuit Sizing
Let’s talk about sizing. I’m wearing a size 4 and that is my true size. As for length, it is perfect! I’ve been having a lot of good luck with Anthropologie’s jumpsuits when it comes to length. I’m 5’4″ and I usually struggle with jumpsuits being too long. The straps are adjustable. There is room around the chest area (my chest size is 32C), but it’s not loose. Hence, why I was able to layer with a black turtleneck. The back has a zip closure. Oh and it has POCKETS!!!!
Btw, my turtleneck is from Uniqlo’s Heattech collection. If you’re not familiar with Heattech, it is a specific material that can provide warmth without the bulkiness. It has a technology to convert body moisture into heat. It is incredible! I hate how bulky dressing for Winter can be in order to stay warm and Heattech solves that!
6 Metallic Jumpsuits
If you are looking for more options. I shared some below! Without a doubt, I’m considering wearing this exact outfit as a New Years Eve outfit. That is if we decide to make plans. So far we don’t have any. But even if we are staying in, I might still dress up. It’s always fun even if I change out of it in a couple of hours haha.
What about you? What are your thoughts on wearing metallic during the holiday season?
